Just wondering if its still possible to drive a car with a screwed dizzy bearing?
Its making a fair bit of noise and im about an hour away from home!!!!
Is there anything bad that could happen if i try to drive it? How bout if i went to a close shop and got some rp7 (or something like that) to lube it up? Will that make it safe to drive home?
Oh, and its pretty much a straight highway drive.
Please let me know asap so i know what to do!

at idle it will make a scratching / grinding noise from the dizzy area. Obviously.
You can drive it , but the bearing is failing and can seize. IF it seizes it will not turn around and will not provide spark so the car wont run :)
You can lube it up for a temporary fix

yeh i made it home! lol
anyone know where i can get a new bearing? i've read on here they are hard to find because honda have a patent on the bearing size - but i've seen people who have found them.
Cant just buy a new bearing from honda?

you cannot buy the bearing from honda.
You buy the entire unit from Honda.
At most , you can get the ICM and coil seperate and rotor / cap , but the bearing is on the rotor shaft and im sure its part of the "body" unit.
You CAN get some mech. to rebuild it with a new or used bearing - thats what i did.

ACA supply a brand new remanufactured dizzy for around $300rrp with a 5 year warranty.
I have seen a few Hondas get so much play in the shaft, the CAS gears hit the CAS and things quickly stop after that... broken gear and a stuffed CAS pickup :(
