View Full Version : EK4 : re-align boot

can this be done? if so how.

cos my boot isnt closed perfectly and it has a tiny rattle which can be heard over bumps if i go hard...and its annoying me. sounds like its not closed properly. anyways i want to fix this.

any help appreciated.

Yes there are a number of adjustments you can make. Need more information on where the boot doesn't line up with the body, or is it sticking up, or is it loose when you close it like that.

well ok from my judgment the drive side frame as well as the window dont exactly align with the chassis properly. i can feel it with my hands that driver side is out more and does not align with the rear lights.

when i close the boot slowly, the boot is slight to the left (passenger side). so my guess is my boot is aligned more to the left than it is to the right.

adjust the catch.
just loosen the 2 10mm bolts and move it around until it aligns properly

what bout the gas struts? do i need to worry about them when i move the bolts?

they r 4 10mm bolts isnt there up the top.

dont have to touch the struts.

thx hybrid. il give it a go tmrw. altho i dont think movign around the clip will actually solve my alignment problem?? dont i need to adjust the angle of the boot too?

wow thanks for that indepth help claymore again! will work on it tomorrow night and try all suggestions and see how it goes.
