94 Exi Civic Motor?

Just a question on what type of motor came in the 94 exi sedan:confused: . My friend bought one here but its apparently an overseas model just wondering what type of motor it might be. ive been doing a lil reading but not sure if its accurate but i read it came with a 80's crx vtec but i could be wrong.

Dont know those models well enough, but the model number will be stamped on the block.

if its stamped d16a7 then it is a d16a7, also more commonly refered to as a d16 or simply as a d series.

you could assume that it's closely related to the D16A8 (Australian version) 1.6l twin cam non-vtec found in the Si civics
