Just wondering what the engine inside these are?, ive searched the forum, ive searched hondas website, but there was not anything that would tell me what engine it has. its a 1.8 SOHC Vtec, but thats all i could find out :thumbdwn:

Could someone please give me a hand. thanks.

oh, just searched redbook, it said it has an R18A? is this correct?

i think the engine code should be K18 (same engine code as current model Accord/Euro/DC5/Civic Sports) but dunno the suffix alphabet...don't think :honda: would make 2 different engine series for the same car;)

it's just my logical opinion saying it's a K series mate...maybe redbook is right...best thing is to ask other members who works in honda service/dealer, they should know better than us:)

edit: it's also an 1.8L SOHC i-Vtec, not just normal Vtec anymore;)

yep i just checked it out too...my bad sorry:o

apparently, the R series is a replacement of the old D series...the same goes for K, which is the replacement of B series......R & K series use i-Vtec while some of D and B series engines use VTEC...

so, it's correct, the new Civic Vti/Vti-L uses R18A engine, 1.8L SOHC i-Vtec:cool:
