Hey guys

Yes i have done a few search, But i just want to be positive. As i am aware all SOHC D15/D16 Gear is mostly interchangeable etc etc. However my main question will a d15b7 Box go onto a d16y1 engine no probs strait change over? Also does the D16y1 have some sort of factory Lsd that i would miss out on if i did the swap? any complications i might find?

Thanks in advance guys

Regards LYle

Can always get an OBX LSD...not to pricey and value for money...

with regards to the gearbox, if they're both made for d16 motors, then i dont see why not?

i dont think the ecu swap will work tho unless you get it retuned.

Gearbox will fit. All d series gearbox's fit eachother. Just make sure you get the clutch that matches the gearbox. Because different gearbox's came with different splines.

As for the ecu, would most likely need a conversion harness. But the motor you have, I'm guessing would be OBD1... why go OBD2? OBD1 has more potential for tuning! If its because you need an ecu to get the motor running, you would probably be better going for a d16y1 ecu. At least you stay OBD1.

Also, to help Lyle out... is this gearbox going onto an NA or turbo y1? If turbo, you'd want the gearbox with the longest gears to help you stay on boost for longer during that gear. The only real difference between the lsd d15b gearbox and the y1 is 2nd gear, the final drive and the lsd. And heard the lsd isn't as good as its cracked out to be.
