Hello,

Just out of curiousity - I'm doing some research.

1. Your model? (VTi, VTi-S* etc)
2. Have you had a boot lining fitted to your vehicle?
3. Do you have any issues/faults with the drivers side window?
4. How about the passenger side window?
5. Do you have tinted windows?
6. If on a waiting list, how long did it take until your Civic was delivered?
7. Anything else worth knowing about your Civic?...

*At Honda, we have the 'Sports' under VTi-S on our system. Sorry to confuse.

3. Window likes to double take on the up. Lubed. Hasn't happened since but is sure to just 1 day out of warranty I BET!

7. A few problems with my Civic...

i) rattles from driver's door and front passenger's door
ii) rattle from sunroof
iii) driver's door reluctant to close (need to slam it)
iv) boot lid hinge creaks
v) exhaust finisher(s) fell off (twice)
vi) rear seat stained upon delivery
vii) metallic rattle from behind glovebox area
viii) brake pedal loose / rattling
ix) ABS malfunctioned
x) dash panels behind steering wheel creaking and rattling
xi) rattle from passenger seat
xii) metal clanging noise from front-right suspension
xiii) metallic rattle from radio area
xiv) centre console box lid missing rubber knob
xv) loud kettle whistling sound if the front demister is left on for longer than a minute
xvi) fluid leaking from the front centre of the underbody

... apart from that it's not that bad a car though.

yeah i was too blinded by the new car feeling to pick fault with anything. it was fixed at the first service though.

chylld uve done a bit to the inside of ur car if im not mistaken (stereo etc). maybe those creaks n rattles could be from refitting panels after instals, dynamat etc. (i could be wrong, obviously lol)

lol... nah fair point. however all my items listed above are for parts of the car i didn't touch. there are about 2 or 3 problems caused by myself that i fixed myself that i haven't listed above.

anywho, this is getting slightly OT. should let s2o0o continue with his research :)

3. Yep, when driving upwards in hot, moist conditions, friction gets too greta and window winds backwards. I'm yet to hit the dealer.

4. Not that I noticed, but when I took it in to have the driver side fixed, the dealer spotted the same problem on the other side. No skin off my nose - both windows are being replaced for free.

6. 3 months. Ordered July last year, picked up October (November?). Sounds like the queue has come down.
7. Interior quality is average. Carpet is cheap and prone to wear - get mats!

2. Not originally but the dealer has put it in. Kinda disappointed that it didn't include the plastic covers for the hinges. Does it really cost Honda that much to include them?
3. Yes. Dealer's put some grease or something in there and it works fine now.

7. The nut holding the spare wheel was sheared off when I got the car. Was driving around with the spare wheel not secured for sometime before I realised.

Its black..hard 2 keep clean..bt looks good wen it is clean..HID coming next week..and other little things like scuff plates etc...planning to put some rims and lowered suspension as well...and a bodykit...also someone kicked my mirror off and bent my fuel cap and kicked the rear quarter panel..so its off to the panel shop in 2 weeks as well...

So it appears that some folk get the glass replaced and some get a bit of sort of lube. For the people that have had the glass replaced. What's the difference with the new glass? I've heard it mentioned that the glass is thinner...

Did it fix the problem?

Well I'm still waiting for the dealer to actually install the new windows, and the windows were lubricated in the mean time. The lubrication seems to have fixed the problem for now, but I imagine the lube will wear off after a while - it's a pretty tight fit.

Uh...yeah...too much lube talk. ;)

they released what they called a revised window glass but it didnt seem to make a difference and it just caused headaches with the tinted cars.
in my opinion the window replacement is a waste of time

if the windows are just having problems closing properly then the dealer are just lubricating the run channel and it's usually fixing the problem. sometimes the run channel requires replacement

in some cases the window was going up crooked, in which the regulator was replaced.
