Hello,

could use some help here.
I got the aircon from these forums hoping to install it in my sisters civic for her birthday. :)

Anywho, managed to put in the condenser, evaporator, piping and the rest, excluding the main power connection between the aircon system and the car.

The car had the aircon switch on the dashboard already (except for the cover) and a empty connector within the engine bay as shown in the "Picture 1".

The aircon I got had already all the wiring required for it. Meaning from the relay thing shown in "Picture 4" went the wires to the compressor, to the fan and one on the condenser.

Now the only plug I have left are the main wire of the aircon system, "Pictures 2 & 3" and Car plug "Picture 1".

Problem is that the Car one has 4 wires, whereas the Aircon one has 5 wires. :(

Also, when checking the voltage I found something weird.
When the car has been put ON (contact on - not running) there is no Voltage on the car plug, regardless of the dash switch being on or off.
When the car has is OFF (contact off) there is Voltage on the car plug ??

Can someone help please.

the AC kit you have is from a EG, that is why the conector is different

hang tight, I will help soon with some mo info

looking at the car loom in pic one from the side the wires go in

top left is 1 = red
top right is 2 = blu/red
bottom left is 3 = whit
bottom right is 4 = blu/wht

wire it up as followed. scrap the rely you have already, also that entire loom and make a new one as bellow

1 red = compressor
2 blue /red = hi/lo pressure switch on reciver dryer
3 white = condensor fan power from the relay in the under hood fuesbox
4 blue/white = hi/lo pressure switch on reciver dryer

you must ground the other wire of the condensor fan to the chassis

you must add the realy in the under hood fues box
aslo you must add the condensor fan fuse and the diode.

take a pic on the inside of the unser hood fuesbox and ill confirm what you must add

I recon you can just purchase that harness from honda. dont know how much it will cost but you can also make your own

not a hard job, just will take some time

let me know if you need any more help

Thanks mate.

I have done the rewiring as you described. :)
Found also the manuals for the older honda's (94-96) that seem to have the same wiring as the old one. (The two relays near the condensor) and the new manual (96-2000) and figured out the wiring and then confirmed it with your post. ;)

I have also added the relays in the box under the hood but not sure where the diode and condensor fan fuse go. Will put up a picture tomorrow if you can help me with it.

if I remember the doide may be their from the factory

you have to add two fuses and two relays.

picture will help alot

I installed the two relays in the under hood fuse box already.
Could not however find which fuse or diode you are talking about.

I have included the photos of the under hood as well as under dash fuse boxes so you can see. :D

you are missing the diode that goes in the green circle

you can get one from honda spare parts. you may get away with using a 1N4004

is the system got gas in it yet. ??

also the fuse I soke about was the 20A condensor fan fues which you have.

Thanks mate.
You are a champ. :D

Do not have it gassed yet. Will probably do that tomorrow.
Wanted to have everything else there before I do that.
From my understanding it will not work if there is not enough pressure? (To not damage the compressor)

you can bridge the pressure switch, to see if the compressor cuts in and the condensor fan kicks in.

I cant remember the function of the diode, but it is nessasary

Honda has to get the Diode from Japan. 2 Weeks waiting time. :(

Purchased from JayCar the normal diodes you mentioned, 1N4004, to hopefully be able to use it for now till I find a proper one from the wreckers.
Would you be able to tell me from the drawing which is the positive and which the negative side?

Thanks again
