Hi,

Is this amp able to power a 1000w 12inch jbl subowoofer of the like?

Would it run on bridged 2 channels or 4 channels since i found that it is a pretty weak amp.

thanks for help !

yeah, its only a 20wx4 RMS if I'm right and it will struggle to power that sub. If you dont push it too far it should be ok since most rockford products are under rated... so you may be able to drive it at 25-40% full load

with 20X4, bridging in will only pump out 80w.... cant really do much with that amount of power... I will bridge it power a comps speaker.

unlike the otehr im not sure if it will or not.....actually im not even sure if it will get it to move or not......but bottom line you are trying to run a sub off a low end 4ch speaker amp and its jsut not a good idea...try and shop around and see if u can pick up a smaller sub amp to do it and maybe drop the sub back a few notches if u dont already have it

I think even if it's underrated, it won't be any good on a 1000w sub.

that's why I said that under 25-40% of the sub capacity the amp will start to clip.. JBL product on the other hand is overly over rated. Their 1000w max sub will most likely to be 250-300rms (if that)

Sadly no. I fear the amplifier will be driven into clipping long before you're happy with the amount of bass provided from your subwoofer.:(

Look for a monoblock (one channel) amplifier for you subwoofer. Maybe try for second hand if the budget is a little tight.:)
