Hi everyone,
My name is Sam and I've recently become a member of the Honda-Club *high-five*. What I've bought is a 1996 Honda Integra GSi. It's a fairly big upgrade from my 1985 Nissan Pulsar ET Turbo :p (but I still love my old Pulsar). It's a bit sad that I probably won't be trolling pulsar.org as much now that I've got the Honda as my daily-driver... :(
I'm also a member of OCAU - I'm sure there's a few people who are members of both :)
Anyway, from what I've seen I can probably learn a lot from OzHonda. I'm not hugely mechanically minded but I would really like to learn (and hopefully cut down on labour costs).
Thanks for reading.

I'm going to wash and wax the Integra this afternoon, so I'll take some photos then. Here are some pictures of the Pulsar just after I bought it;

As you can see I've got my fulsik race seats and harnesses, my stripped out carpet and back seats (to reduce weight of course), as well as my fire extinguisher - oh and who can forget my go-faster stickers? They probably add about 5kW each :p
As you can also see the previous owner didn't really give much to the car in terms of TLC. The paintwork came up a LOT nicer after a long hard wash, cut & polish.
It may not look it but it's a decent car and goes fairly hard for a 22yo one at that. It's got numerous modifications to it, and I'm planning a few more for the future :cool:
Anyway, the fact I've just rambled on about my crappy old Nissan hatchback conveys just how much I love this car :o

Washed the Integra. Came up pretty well;

Sorry about the crappy photos - Dad took the good camera so all I had was my phone :(
It's a really tidy car, was a real steal :) The Type-R mats came with it - I really like them because they fit the floor of the car (and cover a nasty cigarette burn made by the previous owners). The rims are absolutely horrible, I'm currently shopping for replacements. The rear tail-lights are also being replaced as I hate the look. A one-inch lower is also on the to-do-list; it's looking a bit 4x4ish.
Oh and genuine carbon-fibre hood :D

Hi Sam & Welcome to Ozhonda. You're on the right track with the Gsi, get rid of the tails, drop it a tad and swap the chromies for some simple 16s or 17s.
Look forward to the future progression of you ride.
Oh & I'm a dormant member of OCAU too :P

I've ordered a cold-air induction kit, as well as some new tail-lights. Oh and a 4-piece strut bar kit. I'm also going to buy these (http://www.tempetyres.com.au/products_closeup.asp?part=&part_no=819) wheels next pay day. What'd you guys less think?
The bloke I bought it off threw in a shitload of extra stuff including a NOS exhaust manifold and a body kit. I'm thinking I might sell them off, as I doubt I'll ever NOS and if I'm lowering then the body kit won't be practical.
Any market for those items here do you guys think?

Your link doesn't work for me.
Definetly a market for teg bodykits, try selling here or eBay.

Well, it works now...those rims would look pretty sexy on the teg. (just make sure they don't give you crummy tires)

welcome mate!
You have two nice cars. Even tho I love hondas, I still love my nissans and toyotas. we're all enthusiasts at the end of the day :)
What I love even more are oldskool cars in mint condition. No need for fancy paintjobs, just keeping it stock, clean and immaculate - perfect. Really shows a person who simply drives vs an enthusiast. :thumbsup: HI FIVE!
Ian, these are the wheels he was talking about: They look a little plain imo, maybe gunmetal on that purple car would look nice :)

hi proto-fenix, nice choice on the TEG, certainly one of the best looking cars out there. especially if you lower and put nice but simple rims. the rims u chose; hmmm...i can see the potential of it - it will look good...pretty cheap for 17s too.
u have a pic of the tail light that u want?
an also, i heard that real CF hoods are illegal in australia...can any1 else confirm this? some peeps repaint it to the car's colour, but to me it defeats the purpose. make sure to post some pix once u get your new mods in, ayt?!
good luck

Thanks for the kind words, guys. I like those rims because they're a fairly simple two-tone design, not too showy but with a bespoke elegance - I think it matches the car :)
The taillights I've chosen are a set of stock ones bought right off these very forums. Just awaiting arrival so I can remove the clearaltezzacrapshit ones and burn them on the same bonfire I do the batwheels :D
Just picked up an engine dampener as there were some minor vibrations at slow speeds and when reversing. Not a big deal but ultimately a cheap fix for something that annoys anal people like me.
About the carbon hood - I plan to get it painted as I just know what I'd think if I saw a guy driving an Integra with a carbon hood. I'm waiting until I get a nice spoiler so I can get them done in one hit. I wasn't aware of them being illegal - the NT is pretty rad with motoring laws, so maybe it's legal here.
