Hi all,

I really want to buy a short shifter as the shift in my EG Civic VTi (SOHC) feels like I am stirring a bucket of house paint!

I have seen many available for the EG Civic but they don't seem to specify whether they are for DOHC or SOHC? Surely they will fit my car?

Any help appreciated!

What do you mean short shifter box?
What benefits does it have?

its just a new shifter which reduces the throw of the gearchange and also slightly the hight of the shifter.
look on ebay america, i ordered one - cost like $34 shipped.

Yeah, this is quoted from the Skunk 2 website

Honda Civic, CRX, Del Sol 1990-2000 628-05-0100 628-05-0090 $134.87

I am getting a Neuspeed or DC Sports for my car shortly.... Prices are $75-85US, but they are only a bracket, not a shifter....

Justin,

I have a B&M shifter on my CRX and I love it.
Made from solid billet which makes for a nice solid shift feel.
Will be better when the stabiliser kit gets in though.

You can order B&M from Autobarn or any shop that deals with Rocket industries.

What is a stabiliser kit and what does it do?

A stabilizer kit replaces the bushings that hold the change rod to the undercarriage of the car and the back of the gear box with aluminium pieces.

The aluminium piece that goes into the back of the gearbox is also adjustable so you can position the shifter where it suits you best (i.e. further forwards or backwards).

They get rid of the spongy feel caused by rubber bushings.
