Hi,

I need to top up my clutch fluid as it is already below the min mark. Can I just buy dot3 or dot4 fluid (any brands) from coles/kmart and fill it? or I must use the same as the one already in there? I don't know what fluid it is there now though, as this is my first time to top it up.

Is there any disadvantage from using general dot3 or dot4, or I should take it more seriously and take it to the mechanic?

thanks

it only says uses dot3 or dot4, the manual also says the same.

but I don't know what's already in there whether dot3 or dot4. I guess it should be fine if I buy dot4 from coles?

thank you

yes it's fine but best to use the manufacturers recommended fluids i.e if you have a Honda best to use genuine Honda fluids.

Use Honda brake fluid. Not sure which model you have, but the newer ones need Honda brake fluid because others will attack the seals (slowly though)

thanks guys.

mine is eg vti sedan 95, should it be fine if I buy the generic one for now, and flush the whole thing when it needs to during the service time?

If you need it now on the weekend, just get Castrol Response Dot4 brake fluid. If you can wait til monday, get Honda brake fluid from the dealer.
