PR3 is just the identification number of the head.
The number that follows 1-4 is from what casting it came from.
they come on anything from b16s to b17s to 18s .. you cant really tell..

I read somewhere that u can only tell if it is an ITR head from the green paint behind the distrubutor. From memory it was an indication that the head was chosen as one of the best for furthur machining..

hm...ok well here's my dilema..

when i got my 100k service and the timing belt done..

the b16a timing belt wouldnt fit..was 2teeth short..

so i got the specs of the timing belt which is a RU26 124 which i was informed by adrian from toda that it was a b18 timigbelt.

right now my timingblet is a b18c item.even though my engine is a b16a
i am guessing my head has been swopped.

got any idea's for this?

The heads are the same height and use the same cam gears so the only reason the timing belt would not fit is if the block was a taller which it is 7mm in a B18C & B16B blocks.Or it is fitted with another water pump with smaller pulley on it.

Also would using the incorrected seated headgasket to affect height to such an "two toothed" degree ?

Danny....you have a "hybrid-hybrid" lol....

Head gasket will not make that much difference.

7mm in a head gasket is a rather big amount.....

I was thinking along those lines ^^

like the B18B or B20B one

these have 19 teeth, the VTEC ones have 22 teeth.

it says on the pinion how many teeth.

if you have a VTEC engine running the non-VTEC pump the velocity of the coolant will be too high to properly cool the engine at high rpm.
