I've only got a keyless entry FOB and was wondering how does the immobiliser get armed and disarmed? and how do you test to see if its actually working properly?

In the manual it only states that the green key will light up once the key is set to 'ON'.

I think theres a chip inside your key which tell the car a code and the car will turn off the immobilizer... and if the car can't see/read/wrong code it wont start

Most newish Honda's from the sorta late 90's onwards have it

u can test it by getting ur car keys cut, then testing it out with the newly cut keys.

whoosh!

pull out the module for the immoboliser out and try to start the car it should start for a couple of seconds then die out

Once you take your key out, your immobiliser is armed.
Once your put your key in, the immobiliser is disarmed.

Test as peviously said; get keys cut.

There isn't a fob, so they chip won't work. Ensure your OEM keys aren't near the steerling column.

HOWEVER

You said you have a Keyless FOB. This means you press a button and your doors unlock, you open it up.

Your immobiliser could possibly be an Aftermarket System; thus, no chip in your key.

You'd have to try to jack your own car, there-by setting your alarm off in the process.

leave windows down and arm your car with your alarm, then use the newly cut keys to start the car up while your standing outside.

Hope he doesn't have automatic window lift! Haha.

By the way, what makes you sure you have an immobiliser? .. Is it an Alarm System with Immobilisers you have, or simply a "Keyless Entry Fob" as you've put it.
