Well ive been having some probs with annoying squeals coming from the rear of my car when going over speed bumps. It sounds like metal on metal and is quite loud.

Ive had a good look, but cant see anything hitting or scraping in that area. It occoured to me that the problem may be due to me not putting any grease on the new LCA bolts that came with my ASR brace 6 or so months ago.

Should i have done so?, i feel i should have, but it didnt occour to me at the time.:o
Should i be lubing up all bolts passing through bushings for future referance?

on the bolts? i'd highly doubt it dude, maybe chassis flexing?

I grease up any bolt that is in contact with a moving part.
I use Anti-seize on any bolt I take out unless it specifies thread lock

Makes future maintenance so much easier.

Nar its definatly not due to flex, its a loud, violent metal to metal screech.

Ive removed the rear sway, and the noise still exists, so its not swaybar related.

Ive had a really good look around the whole area, and nothing seems to be rubbing or hitting anything:confused:

Maybe its your springs rubbing.

maybe even the lca against the lca mount..

when i did my sussy i used white lithium grease in a spray can on most of the moving areas that had bushings.. but i doubt it would make a huge dif..

maybe something is too tight? or even too loose to allow play?

did you tighten/torque the bolts on level ground or while the wheels were suspended ?
The bushes maybe incorrectly held and giving this squeaking ?

Yep all torqued correctly with car on ground...

As you suggested, why not try lubing the LCA bolts and seeing if that stops the noise? If it really is that annoying you should just try things you might think will work, as long as they aren't dangerous and won't harm your car, and post your findings here for others to learn from your experience.

Have you noticed any difference to the handling? A loose trailing arm bush will result in sloppy steering response. Similarly, most bushings will give you some kind of handling related feedback beyond noise. It's not your exhaust hitting the ground is it? :P
