A mechanic told me the other day that it helps with fuel consumption by cleaning out the injectors... has anyone ever used it?

well it depends who you ask.
mechanics well tell you they are great
sceptics will tell you they are a waste of money
there are a few different types ranging from like the fuel additives u get from a servo to ones a mechanic would do running a high pressure cleaning agent thru ur injection system. i personally wouldnt waste time with the cheap fuel additives, however i've heard of plenty of people happy with the later option. dunno if that helps but yeah

98RON Fuel has cleaning additives added to it, so its good to use 98RON ruffly once a month if you use 91RON or 95RON all the time.
Or if you have a 95RON minimum engine, use 98RON all the time to keep the engine clean and to increase fuel efficiency and possibly power.

He never mentioned that there was different types.... This was a Honda mechanic who told me btw and i noticed he used it usually on the older cars he serviced and it costed $6 a bottle which would last roughly 6 months
