i was thinking of buying a del sol when i come back from my 5 month eurotrip and selling my eg and was just wondering if people with delsols could tell me abit about them like i seen somewhere that the roof comes off automatically or do you have to manually get out and take it off? and if youcan fit a sound system in the boot without taking up the spot where the roof goes?

and also would like to know what that little sqaure on the back does or is?

only the JDM spec models have the automatic roof..
i'd recommend not getting them unless you're willing to fork out alot of money and time if anything goes wrong..

the non electric targa versions are lighter too :p

basically the AUDM models, you unclip the roof.. lift it off.. and set it in the spot made for the roof in the boot

yes you can.. but you have to be wary about the size of the sub box.. as you'll only have ~35cm in height to play with..

hence the reason why i purchased a 10inch sub.. although i've seen people with 12..

if it's under ~35cm, you'll have enough room to put the roof on top without hitting the box..

as Vidospace has mentioned, it's the rear fog light (looks like it has been colourcoded or removed) only found on EURO ? or UK ? versions

good decision mate:thumbsup:

yep the targa top is quite easy to put back on

and it is easy to put a sub in the boot, i've got a JL 12" sub with the pre-made box, if u think about it the roof has a sort of curve in it, so that if u place the box in the middle, the roof can still go in no problems.
anyway the gen3 crxs have huge boots so i doubt u would have problems fitting a sub in them

lol ive been thinking about the space in the del sol where you sit does anyone feel abit chlostraphobic in it cos it doesnt look like there to much space to lounge around?

it might just be me but i actually like the way that feels, cause theres not that much space to move around when doin hard cornering, a decent set of bucket seats and ur laughing
ie theres always something to lean against. my bros gen2 doesnt have that surounding or that "**** pit" feel, which is a bad thing cause u side around the seat and also have nothing to lean against

so does mine...

but it is a late 94?!?
my seats need to be recovered, very worn and feral looking! and has hole where every crx does...drivers side as u get in cos there so low u have to fall into them.

i dont feel chlostraphobic.but if u do just open the rear window. even if side windows are not open still has air flow and opens up the interior!

yeah..
that's the difference between pre 95 and 95+

ebrake button, diff trims, diff material on the seats, airbags, electric antenna, diff oem headunit..

other than that.. no difference..

I have heard that the roofs on the pre 95 models are prone to leaking too so you might want to check that before buying. Any squeeks on the roof can be fixed with silicon grease though.

soudns like there was a few changes in the line up then.

i know the earliest model didn't have airbags but that was in like 92.

93 onwards should have air bags but with grey interior and black handbrake button.

96+ got black interior and chrome handbrake button as well as OBDII engine config.

AFAIK. :)
