View Full Version : XFORCE 4-2-1 vs 4-1 ....ground clearance problem

Hi everyone, im currently debating between a 4-1 and 4-2-1 xforce header.

i wan a 4-1 for that extra oomph on the high rev but as my car is pretty low, i dont want scrappage as its already scrapping humps and stuffs.

Just a question, how much lower does a xforce 4-1 header hangs compared to the 4-2-1?

Anybody has pics to show the difference?Cheers

the 4-1 will sit maybe 1-2cm lower. It copies the JDM 4-1 and put 3 pipes together and then the last is angled to give it nominal drop. It will sit about sump height, nothing too low and you'll hit your sump at the same time if your car is that low.

I'm pretty sure that most aftermarket headers (within reason) will still not drop any lower than the bottom oil sump guard. As said above if its that low, i would be more worried about your oil sump.

raise your car a perch. your handling will improve. then the clearance of the header will be less of an issue. if i were you i would go the 4-1.

my car is nowhere low hey..much higher than urs...its the front lip dat makes it look low..its like 2cm front the guards

u should be alright then if youre a few cm off ur guards. but the 4-1's do sit lower and also infront of the oil pan so its more front hitting things like speed humps etc if u dont go over at an angle.

thats why i want to go 4-2-1 because my car is fair low.\

btw i have xforce 4-1's for sale :)

my cars lowered with xforce 4-1, can c sparks coming out underneathof car on bumpy roads, how low is yours? no sparks?

hahaha yeh man i layed sparkes as well haha looks sick

my mate was driving behind me one night and was going over some bumpy streets my car way spraying sparks all over the place haha

yeh its the shit sounds good n nise performance downside is mine sits 4-5cm of the ground roughly, i once got stuck in shopping mall because all the speed humps where to high !

I bought them pretty cheap of him..
Welded the 2 small holes..
just a straight swap with no tune the car sounds different and i can feel the top end revs better and goes better...
felt a little loss on low rpm but my engine never stays that low anyways:)

I grated my old xforce 4-1 to pretty much a quarter of it's diameter. Trust me man, do it right the first time and spend a little more, get a set of 5zigen 4-2-1's or something. will sound a lot better and sit a lot higher. Not sure about power gains but my 5zigen 4-2-1 felt a lot quicker than the crappy XForce 4-1's.

If your comparing xforce 4-1 to xforce 4-2-1 yes..
But a good header to xforce 4-1,
4-2-1 will make it look very ordinary

that will depend on what other mods u have etc.
