 Hi guys and girls,
just wondering if anyone has put aftermarket rims on an 06/07 civic. I'm waiting on delivery of the car still but before it comes home I want 18s or 19s fitted. Can anyone give me feedback, are 19s possible?

with 19's, your more liekly to run into problems of scrubbing n shit. my gf has a stock 06 civic and the ride is very comfortable. but... if u put big ass rims, youll feel a bit of discomfort when u cruise.

18s might look a bit small depending on the style of the wheel.
19s with correct offset will be fine
20s with rubberbands will be fine too.
It all depends on what kind of ride compromise you're willing to make. Make sure you look into some springs/shocks or coilovers as well. With wheels that big and no drop, it'll look a bit 4x4-ish.

If you want to think about what's legal, it depends on what model you had to start with. Most states won't allow anything bigger than a +2 fitment (and no more than 1 inch wider), so depending on whether the car originally came with 15s, 16s or 17s (now standard on 07 Sports), that may determine how big you want to go.
If in doubt, ask your Honda dealer about issues with fitting larger wheels.
You might also like to think about what tyres can you actually afford: generally, the bigger the wheel, the more expensive the tyres (odd that you pay more for less! -- I know, better compounds :) ). Don't fit crap rubber -- it defeats the purpose of upgrading your wheels and tyres.
The other thing you might like to check is what your insurance company will allow. If you have an accident (your fault) and the wheels/tyres are found to be a factor, you probably won't be covered for the damage you caused.
EDIT: Just noticed your sig with 07 vti -- comes standard with 15 x 6 wheels, which means legally you can only go to 17 x 7.

The Civic has some pretty big wheel arches. My 16s/205 dont fill it well at all. Optimal size would be about 17 I think. Though 18s wouldnt be too bad.
Any bigger and it will look ridiculius.

oh my god i cant believe this ****ing argument is still going,
that law is dead and gone, u can put any size rim u want as long as u dont change the total tyre diameter by more than 15mm bigger or 26mm smaller
read the modification guides properly

It depends on state law. That might be the case where you live. In SA it states (and I quote my PDF):
Vehicles manufactured on or after 1 January 1973 (ADR 24) are not permitted to increase or decrease the diameter of the wheel by more than 50 mm than the largest or smallest wheel listed on the tyre placard.
As well as
The overall diameter of a wheel and tyre fitted to a vehicle manufactured on or after 1 January 1973 (ADR 24) must not be more than 15 mm greater than the largest tyre size listed on the tyre placard and not more than 15 mm less than the smallest tyre size listed on the placard. Specifications for overall tyre diameters are listed in the Tyre and Rim Standards Manual, issued by the Tyre and Rim Association of Australia.
I merely raise the point that people need to check their local regulations and be aware of all possible issues.
