Jaycar gear = value for money.

At the end of the day it's all up to you because it's your car and your the one who'll be listening to the systme more than anyone else. So the best option is to go and have a listen to see if it suits your tastes, others peoples opinions are good and fine but really just comes down to what you like.

its all about your budget too... sure the Jaycar is the best value for $$$ there is out there but they are not by any means the best.. if your budget only allows for jaycar brand, go for it instead of a well known brand name on the same money... I like their speakers and amps, but not a fan of the subs...

Great gear if you are after something on the cheaper side. Best value for money I think. I have the Response Precision 6.5" kevlar front and rear speakers as well as the tweeters and crossovers. Never had any problems. Sounds pretty good.

those cevlar splits are great especially for the price. There amplifiers are top class, they are rated up there with the best from memory they came third in some competion.

yeh they're good, i got the 6.5" splits, 4x100 amp and the 12" carbonfibre sub.no problems at all. i got mine off ebay, think the seller was employee of jaycar, so it came with all warranty and receipts. saved like 200 bucks compared to the store price.

im a big fan of the amps. I started with a 2x150wrms 3-4 years ago, when there amps were black, its taken a beating and works great still, built like an absolute tank. About a year ago i switched to there 800wrms monoblock, and it is supurb, Very efficient for tons of power wich is great for my civic with a small car battery.

Yeh Jaycar is ok for the budget conscious, definitely better value and quality than awful Sony stuff, but not as good as the American brands like Boston Accoustics and JL Audio etc..

hey guys
after the install, it seems like my car has a hissing/humming noise when ignition is on. must related to the wiring. was told that i could get a noise filter or somesort to reduce or get rid of that noise
how does that get fitted on behind the deck?

simple way to eliminate that is to run the power cable from the amp tp battery on one side of the car while the RCA, spkr wire on the other

noise filter can run inline with the power cable to the amp i think from memory

Take the earth off the chassis and sand it back to bare metal under it and re screw it down. make sure the earth is 100% before resorting to noise filters a good earth is crucial. and to the 800rms mono block owners. high five! lol theyr top notch spesh when speakers mated to the 400w 4 channel digital.

i got mine inside the door panels, a good way to hide them, but harder if you want to adjust them. was gonna put em under the seats or in the boot where the amp is. depends if you want to hide them or not i guess...

BC8: did you run the power cables and rca/speaker wires down different sides of the car?

I stuck my crossovers in whatever space/s I could find behind the glovebox (under the dash)

Hey bud, i used the polykevlars 6x9s,,, were awsome especialy with the positionable tweeter,,, but the speaker blew up after a month,, also had the 4x100wrms amp,, awsome amp, prob with it is that it doesnt have a fan,, so if your pumping it hard it will only go for about 10-15min then u have to wait for the safty cut of 2 reset, and on a hot day,30+ dont bother turning it on loud at all,, wont last 2 min

i have never had an issue with precision response amps, people who have over heating issues or power issues with these amps i sugest you take it to a car audio specialist cause even my installer who does over 5 installs using this equipment has never had an issue besides needing to re ground and re wire other dodgy installs. Otherwise maybe take the amp back to where you bought it so they can get it checked, as they should not over heat, they have a large heatsink and a good design although they can run slightly hot its nto enough to go to saftey mode.

Cheers'

That my 2 cents
