knocking noise

OK i just finnished puttin the B18C7 into my 99 cxi.
now when i start to drive theres a continous knocking/tapping noise coming out
of the intake.(it sound like an aftermarket intake tapping on the car) it only apears when the car is on slight acceleration forward or reverse and when in criusing speed.
when the car comes to a stop the noise stops and the noise does not change
beat/speed.

i do have a faulty idle control valve and i thought it might be the solinoid.

any suggestions

Possible defects - check and inspect the below.

1) possibly your injectors are not firing up with fuel in the correct sequence, or they are blocked?
2) ignition timing out of place? - how is your idle?
3) Distributor cap / ignitor damaged - check this?
4) IACV faulty?
5) Damaged Driveshaft? - intake/driver side? not properly inserted to tranny?
6) incorrect or damaged fitting of Engine mounts?

Have u got any CEL codes besides the IACV?

sweet .. are you going to replace the IACV? i guess do this first and see if it fixes the problem if it doesnt then i guess you will have to check what ive posted on thread #2. and see how u go.

You may just need to clean carbon off the IACV filter

Does the ticking sound change with engine RPM or road speed??

Or is it a constant ticking in the engine by ones the car is moving?

tha noise is constant and does not change and only when the car is moving

if its while moving only - looked at tyres for rocks / bits of glass / stick etc stuck in tread ? something loose in the engine bay ?
what else keeps a constant rate while moving ?
