start your car up look on the dash for a atts light. if it comes on then goes off then you have it.

Its a yellow light that comes on with ATTS written in it. Alternately, look at the back of the engine down to the drive shaft, you should see an additional gearbox coming off it. Even still, lift the carpet on the passenger side floor, under the mounting bracket you should see both an engine control module (ECM) and an ATTS control module, if fitted!

The first difference from the factory is the wheels. VTiR models receive 16x6.5 directional, polished "fan blade" rims.

ATTS models came with 16x6.5, 5-spoke, silver powdercoated rims.

The next thing is the sideskirts. VTiR/Si models came with black vinyl skirts.

http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d53/si_lude/Base%20and%20SH/DSC00368.jpg

ATTS models have the skirts painted the color of the car.

NOTE: The rear valence is also an indication. Base models are vinyl and ATTS models are painted.

Next thing, ALL ATTSs have spoilers. Some VTiR/Si models did and others didn't. Because all ATTSs came with a spoiler, there was no need to go ahead and install a 3rd brake light in the back window since there is one on the spoiler.

When you turn the fuel pump on, an ATTS will have an "ATTS" light and the VTiR model won't.

(One or the other, we've seen both)

If by some crazy chance somebody pulled off all that on a VTiR, check the VIN.

VTiR manuals start with: JHMBB614

VTiR autos start with: JHMBB624

ATTS start with: JHMBB615

No way that is a fail. Your post is one of the most helpful and informative that I have seen in a very long time!

Rep for that. Good eye too for spotting that I swiped the dash pic from a US forum. I'll add it to my post if you don't mind.

Sure, use it where ever.

Pitty with the timing I didn't catch all the lights though.

so what im lookin for is the "atts" or "that symbol representing the atts" to see if mines a atts when i switch the car on. mine has painted valence. also what do i look for in the VIN to see if its an atts, dont really understand there.

yep you should have that symbol, also ur VIN should just begin with JHMBB615.

if your VIN begins with anything else (eg. JHMBB614) then u do not have atts.

my VIN matches that of an ATTS model however ive never seen at ATTS light on the dash come on when i turn it on. does that mean its not working or i shouldnt worry?

If it wasn't working, then the ATTS light should come on and stay on. Possible that the ATTS has been removed. Some people prefer gear based LSD's, want more power than the ATTS unit can handle (shuts off with too much torque) or want to run a standalone ECU which means no ATTS making it dead weight.

Has the car been heavily modified or had the engine swapped?

Do you have the door courtesy lights, ATTS rims or any other indicators?

Punkarama

got the rims, the side skirts, the matching ATTS vin number and yes i have door lights aswell....engine isnt swapped or heavily modified, just coilovers and headers.

judging by those photo's where the ATTS light should be is the suspension light instead.

Suspension light? Don't think I have ever seen that. Are there even sensors? Could you post a photo?

Punkarama

ok maybe its not the suspension light. its the light shown in the previous picture where ATTS light should be....the picture of the set of wheels... i thought that it was suspension, my bad.

No that is the ATTS light. It's the part in between the wheels that it is showing. The light that actually says ATTS is from USDM (also Canada) SH Prelude.

You have the correct light.

The reason I posted the picture in the first place was to show what you should see in a local car.

well i was a little worried there... sorry i misunderstood wat that picture was showing, thought it was the Vti-R model showing no ATTS. thx for ya time man. owe ya. :D

To further clarify, the Vti-R is the one with no light.
