hey guys im considering on purchasing a hid kit and installing it into my dc2
will the projector unit be suitable for hid kits?? as in no hot spots etc?

there are definately hot spots. You will not get optimal light output by putting a hid kit in your stock headlights, the light output however is still VERY VERY good and a MARKED inprovement over stock..

For comparison - here is the light output from one BMW X5 projector I have retrofitted to my DC2R....
Using Philips 85122 4100k Capsule...

if u put HID into normal housing is this were u get the yellow effect on the plastic? wat causes this? u see it on alot of soarers and r33 skylines

i seriously don't think its the light, its just the weathering of the plastic after the harsh years in the sun
