Get the WLED-WHP LED Wedge Base Bulbs found here http://www.superbrightleds.com/mini-wedge.html (Around $US5)
They are the new super bright "flux" LED's that are 6x brighter than normal LED's, and they are not too blue either so they look very similar to HID's
http://www.superbrightleds.com/products/car/wled-whp.jpg
To install them, simply pry away the plastic moulding under the front wheels and jam your hand in there up to the bulb rear, then simply twist the bulb housing out and replace the bulb.
This is MUCH easier than trying to get to the bulbs through the hood.
Here's a pic of them on my 06 euro

lol yeh they are pretty bright, you can easily mistake them for low beam halogens
They are pure white LED's, but the 06/07 euro's parking light cover makes them look blue

those look mad, wonder how they look on the 04 lights thou, cos ive got leds for them (one u linked from ebay) from jdm concept and they dunt shine as bright as my original parkers. (dunt fill up the whole side light thing like the old bulbs did)
EuroDude

It would look bright white on the 03-05 euro's so you would want to use the OEM HID bulbs as they are mostly white as well.
The problem with LED's is that they only shoot light straight out. Normal bulbs shoot light in all directions and reflect of the metalic surface on the sides of the parking light housing.
But these WLED-WHP LED's are so bright, they reflect easily and fill the housing nicely.

Philips have white parker bulbs, better than the wide angle LEDs and it's quite bright as well..
As for the installation, it's only a matter of removing the wheel guards.. Won't be hard to do :)

I've got MTEC parkers from one of the traders Liquid Sound, i think it was $17.These ones look nice, i had the $8 ones mentioned before, weren't as bright as i thought they'd be. And cop told me they were too blue.
The mtec ones are nice n white, but probably not as bright as you want them. Ill take a picture when i can.

Filament bulb parkers will be brighter and withstand voltage problems. With LEDs, I was having the single LED ones fail ONLY on the RIGHT SIDE every month. The left side LED parker was fine all the while. Single LED ones are insufficient in brightness. They work to show other drivers that you are there, but don't expect them to throw any light on a wall 50cm away. LOL.
I then switched to a 6-LED parker bulb. This one was good, I could actually see good light on the wall from 50cm. Colour-wise, it's whiter than the single LED. However, it lasted about 5 months before 2 of the 6 bulbs failed (also on the right side) and in the end the remaining 4 bulbs started flashing like a disco.
I'm now using the high powered one, similar to the WHP-WLED bulb (at less than 1/2 price, paid $8-9 for the pair). It's not as bright as the 6-bulb LED, but I can see that there are more electronic components in it, so I hope that it has a rectifier built in to smooth out the volt spikes. Colour-wise, it is more whitish than the single LED parkers. Build quality is not too good though, the base is a litle short, so it feel like it is not sitting securely in the bulb holder. :(
Anyway, if you have the base Euro, consider changing the bulbs first before the parkers. I use Osram/Narva +50% bulbs. Downside is that they last 1 year on a stock car and only about 6-8 months on a modified one (because of vibrations)

^ Funny you should mention the RHS parker LED, mine blew the other day but the left one is still going strong. Maybe the earthing for the RHS parker is a bit dodgy.
Yeh I tried various types of LED's, 4-Led, 6-Led, other single LED's, but they all looked too blue and dull, and the 12-LED ones didnt even fit in the hole lol
The WHP-WLED are actually brighter than the stock filament bulbs and fit very snug and secure in the euro's parker connector.

I don't think it's the ground. It has a direct ground from the bulb section to the chassis just behind the bumper. I suspect that it is the voltage being unstable. The fluctuation kills LEDs very quickly if all they use is a resistor.

There is a $25 minimum? Didnt know that :p
I usually order a variety of bulbs all at once. The $US5 shipping cost is reasonable but it takes around 10 days to get here. Or you can pay $US30 if you want it earlier.
edit: Yes they will fit the licence plate lights, but I tried them and it didnt look good since the light goes straight down in one direction and doesnt light up the whole number plate, plus they are too bright lol.
I used multi-LED ones with LED's pointing out the sides as well (the "WLED-x5 LED Wedge Base Bulbs" ones I think).

So how were they?
I bought a set of 3 LED ones from Autobahn and they are pretty dim. Well at least they are white and not yellow anymore but aside from looks, it doesn't seem to serve any purpose.
Anyone here tried the 5 LED ones from Autobahn before? Maybe I'll bring them back and swop them.

The multi-LED ones are dissapointing. They just use a bunch of standard LED's. The brightness of each LED doesnt seem to combine well, you just get more light in different directions.
Ive tried various multi-LED's in the parking lights (2LED, 3LED, 5LED), none of them were as bright as the single WHP-WLED (SuperFlux) bulb.

The Polarg bulbs will be better value in the long term as well because the voltage spikes will kill the LEDs very quickly. The regular 3/5 bulb LEDs last me 2 months, while the high power one lasted 6 months. The Polarg one will last as long as the stock globes, which is at least a few years.

EuroDude
01-08-2007, 02:05 PM
Yes, but a cars battery power spikes and fades a lot, which can cause LED's to fail. You need a voltage regulator I guess.
I know how much the yellow parkers annoys the sh*t out of all the euro owners because they're sooo fugly yellow and doesnt match the colour of the hid kit that comes with the euro.
so to make everyone happy, heres some info on how to get you hands on the High Power LEDs
I bought my HighPOwer Led parker lights about 6months ago, got mine from an ebay seller named warden_jp2002, which i thought was selling them for a good price, he also has a wide range of different Parker LEDs. Ive been to different websites such as the "superbrightleds.com" and found that the ones i bought from ebay were a better quality and longer lasting. im still using the pair i bought and still works perfect, no faults. Dont bother going to Autobarn, or supercheap autos or other automotive spare parts store, because they dont have them instock, and if they do, they sell the cheap ones that dont last very long and not very bright.

Hms I guess my right-side LED is on its way out then.
I'll try those eBay ones, perhaps they will last longer (due to the heatsink, and made in Japan). It looks like they are Flux LED's as well so it should look very similar.

They are for parking. They don't light up the road. But both the 6-LED and high powered ones can cast light on the wall next to your car. The old single LED ones didn't do that.

It's not the heat that kills the LED. It's the voltage spikes. All the LED uses is a diode for protection. It doesn't have a voltage regulator.

The difference is the head. The inverted one has an inverted cone-shaped tip to spread the light to the sides. The non-inverted ones then to shine only straight ahead. I am using the non-inverted one. The headlight casing of the Euro works as a diffuser as well, so you can use the non-inverted LED and still throw some light on the side.

BTW, LEDs will always have a short life on cars and the Euro because the voltage is constantly varying and doesn't stay at 12V.

I have read the posts and appears LEDs are not the way to go. I want sth reliable and lasts for years! lol

I would love to know as well - something a bit whiter to match the HID, and i would love to change my foglights to something more 'HID-friendly'.
Also, i still don't understand how i go about changing the bulb - i was under the impression that i had to remove the front bumper to gain proper access to the headlight cluster?

The instructions to change the parker bulbs are in the manual. Its on page 498 or something i believe, somewhere around there. It's quite easy to do, only takes a few minutes. You don't even need to take the bumper off, just slip your hand in behind where the wheel is and its done! =)

Ah, thanks mate, that'll teach me to not read the manual fully.
Just went out to inspect my parker lights and found that one of the rear number plate lights is dead :(. Looks like i'll have to get a replacement asap!

I know this isnt related to the parkers.....but mite be helpful for others that are thinking about it.
Just wondering what recommendations ya'll have as what globes to use for the high beams that will match the stock HID's?

off topic:
anyone heard of the brand PIAA??
I would love to know as well - something a bit whiter to match the HID, and i would love to change my foglights to something more 'HID-friendly'.
Also, i still don't understand how i go about changing the bulb - i was under the impression that i had to remove the front bumper to gain proper access to the headlight cluster?
get HID foggies like me.. and high power LED parker lights
these are the ones i got

The regular single LED ones lasted me 1.5 months, while the 6-LED ones lasted about 3 months. The high-power LEDs lasted about 6 months on the other hand. If LEDs are not a must have for you, go for the white regular filament parker bulbs instead.
Weird, mine is still going ever since I posted the bulbs I purchased and posted in the forum...

i'll be interested to see what the H11 are like in the foggies, can you keep me posted with pictures when you install them.
want to know how bright the foggies are, how much heat it generates inside the small fog light housing and also the colour difference with the HIDs

I have the same problem as Aarron - the passenger parker (if I put an LED in there) blows after one or two evening's of usage. I think I've been through 8LED's on that side already... and have given up on LED's for my parkers. My driver's side one is still going (for 4months). How strange. Once that blows, its filaments again for me.

Do you start the engine while the lights are on? Make sure the lights are off when starting the engine, the LED's should last longer.

hey D R U, hard to tell from the pic but how is the colour match with the HID and the fogs? and also are they bright without the HID on? and sorry one more thing if you go up close to the fog light does the LED produce alot of it?
scared that it generates too much heat and cracks cause of the heat or cause it get hot and then hits cold water and cracks when it rains
cheers

The first pic is with the HIDs and foggies on, the colour is close, but some angles the HIDs don't look as blue.
The LED's are actually white, but the lense covers make them look blue in the pictures.
The foggies themselves are bright, but they dont disperse light, its just in a straight line, so they are definitely not as bright as the oem bulbs.
As for heat - ive touched the foggies after about a 30 min drive and they were still cold to touch.

What ones would be best for a warm white in the map lights, ceiling and doors?
Edit: Just found the interior light thread and found which ones to use :D
