Looks like the Chinese-built K24s might be having some fuel pump problems.
http://www.autoblog.com/2007/03/19/engine-problems-lead-honda-to-recall-165-000/
"The Japanese automaker revealed a new recall for the United States that affects 165,000 vehicles that could develop engine problems from a sealer material that may leak onto wires in the engine and cause them to snap."
"The affected vehicles include the 2005 Acura RL, TL and TSX, the entire 2005 Honda Accord lineup (include the Accord Hybrid), 2005 Honda Odyssey and 2006 Honda Ridgeline."
Info about the fuel pump relay recall current for some MY05 and MY06 Euros (among other Honda models) here:
http://www.recalls.gov.au/view_recall_detail.php?Recall_ID_Auto=14742
There is a current recall for Odysseys (http://www.recalls.gov.au/view_recall_detail.php?Recall_ID_Auto=14743) too which is linked to this huge recall.
I guess they don't make 'em like they used to... ;)

Might account for the hard starting problem encountered by some people:
"Defect Details: A potential for the fuel pump relay to open circuit resulting in the engine stalling and being unable to restart. Throughout the manufacturing process of the fuel pump relay, sealand contamination of the relay coil occurred. When the relay is operative, the coil wire may fatigue and burnout due to repeated flexion by heat expansion and shrinkage caused by heat generation through the relay coil"
(Just found a use for the HondaOne site -- to check my VIN against the list. My VIN isn't in the range...)

Where do you go on the website to check that?

Which specific euro got K24S engine anyway? Is there any in Australia?
EuroDude
21-03-2007, 10:36 AM
There is no "K24S", kleung meant to type "K24's" as in K24 engines.
The only K24's in AUS are the 140kw K24A3 in the Euro, and the slower K24A2 found in the CRV/Odyssey/Thai Accord

Nope, I meant what I typed. "K24s", as in K24 plural. Note the capitalization. "K24's" is grammatically incorrect. Thus concludes the grammar lesson for today :)
That said, I apologize for any misunderstanding - I wasn't referring to a K24S engine.

For abbreviations and codes, u need to put a comma in so ppl don't get confused ftw's <- good example :p

There are so many things wrong with that sentence my brain overloaded trying to parse it. :p
This: ,
is a comma.
This: '
is an apostrophe.
Neither would have been appropriate in the OP's case. <- note appropriate apostrophe usage.
EuroDude

sry I meant apostrophe' not comma rofl,
Anyway, back on topic. Tobster, I doubt the Euro's hard starting problem is caused by this issue.
My Euro is hard to start sometimes, but its not one of the VIN's that have the fuel pump issue.

If you're registered with the HondaOne website (http://www.hondaone.com.au or you can access it from http://www.honda.com.au) then among other details, it lists your VIN (which you have to supply when you register) when you log in. It just saves me having to walk to the car and get the numbers to compare at http://www.recalls.gov.au/view_recall_detail.php?Recall_ID_Auto=14742

You should have written
"Are there any k24 engines in Australia that were made in China?"
Grammer lesson no. 2 :p.

HAHAHAHAHA!!! Someone can speeel goodly too. :)
But back on topic - I don't know about the Thai Accord K24 or the Odyssey K24, but the Euro K24 is presumably assembled in Japan along with the rest of the car. However, I wouldn't be surprised if at least some of the engine components are manufactured in China (or some other SE Asian country)

I think it is a different problem. With this one, your car NEVER restarts after it stalls.

To me it looks only to be the 2005 model, only 2 cars from 2006 year build are affected. If you know how to read the chassis codes what is a CL955 model?
To me its a euro with a manual gear box but the 5 code is not sold here at all. Perhaps its a test car of some kind.

CL955 means model CL9, 4-door manual sedan, base model.
CL958 means model CL9, 4-door manual sedan, luxury model.

No, for the 2006 models, if your JHM code is either JHMCL95506C200011 or JHMCL95506C200012, then yours is affected.
Basically if your JHM Code falls in between numbers, then your euro is affected
Accord Euro 2005 YM.

From JHMCL95805C208865 to JHMCL95805C217567.
From JHMCL96305C208775 to JHMCL96305C217588.
From JHMCL96805C208738 to JHMCL96805C217624.

The Euro standard model is a CL953 or CL963, 5 being manual and a 6 being auto and then a 3 meaning standard config.
The Euro Luxury is a CL958 or CL968 then 5 being manual and 6 being a auto while the next code is 8 for luxury config. And CL959 or CL969, the 9 for luxury with sat nav model.
While a CL955 is not sold here, according to the the VIN is ONLY 2 cars with that, can anyone else open the can to decode this theory. Might be a special test car of some sort.

Guys, I just took my car in for a service today and they are fixing the recall. Apperently there is a second recall for another issue that they are fixing as well. Anyone know about this??
I will let you guys know what the issue is when I pick the car up this afternoon

There was an earlier recall for a wiring harness in the boot, but that only affected MY03/04 Euros, so your 05 should not have been affected. Apart from the two known recalls, nothing else shows up on www.recalls.gov.au (http://www.recalls.gov.au)...

Guys it was a problem with the moisture in the headlights. The just put clips in to hold the headlight tighter. I already had both my headlights replaced due to moisture getting into them.
