Vtec Kick Rpm?

hi guys,

I drove CD5 Accord f22b1 man

just out of my curiousity what RPM does your stock set Vtec kick in?
I had mine last time arround 2.300 - 3000 alreadi kicked in :eek: . i was thinking wow .. thats low LOL... thats with out any ECU or anything .. planted in.

That's because it's an SOHC VTEC.

i have a V6 accord do you know what the Vtec kick is on that, would it be better for me to set it earlier as its a sohc

Ours stock is around 2300rpm. i've read depeneding on manifold pressure, it can be from 2300 to 3xxx rpm something..

one member put a vtec light and the light lit up at 2300 regardless of how hard he stepped on the accelerator.

OK that quiet low i thought it would be alot higher than that, do u know what the V6 is set at i feel it comes in at about 3200 3500 some times higher is that normal

Mine was around 5000rpm when I used the regular unleaded fuel.. since I changed to 98-octane fuel, it become less than 3000.. do you think there's a problem with my car?

that shouldnt be the case. VTEC should kick in depending on oil pressure in the engine (which is achieved at a certain rpm - not octane?)

perhaps your engine is running cleaner and due ot that extra octane it feels more powerful at lower rpm.

btw, when are u gonna come to a CG/CK accord cruise?

when are we gonna have a CG/CK accord cruise it will be fun when we have one becuase then we can compare in person, as for the VTEC kick in i just go the 40k service done and the car feels a little different when it accelerates VTEC doesnt feels a little more powerful when it kicks in, is this the same in your case.

perhaps we can look at sometime in mid may (i'm going o/s in late april) and its sorta easter coming up soon so most of us will be busy.
