Im wanting to invest in some coilovers for my ek and just wanted to know which brands are good and bad. I heard D2 are pretty average and then theres Tein Flex ones for $3000 which is really a ball breaker, so based on other peoples experiences wat should i get or stay away from. Keeping in mind i dont want to spend more then 1800

What is the application for as this will make alot of difference. My personal preference would be to go with something that is both height adjustable (so if you decide you want to drop/raise the car more you can) and also damper adjustable (so that you can adjust how harsh the ride is). I would personally go with something Japanese, but just remember that our road conditions are different to theirs. Most major brands will do the job. Check out:
Tein
Tanabe
Apexi
Cusco etcAlso think about servicing the coilovers and if you have to ship them internationally to have them looked at or if there are local shops that can help. Another option to look at is the koni 'coilover' setup. Had a ride in a car not that long ago where the owner had them and they were very comfortable.

i have a set of these are awesome. i will warn you that you cant dump your car on them. the front shockers are too long. apart from that the handling with them is great.

they're made in taiwan and have a known problem to leak..
saying that.. i haven't had any problems with mine yet..
they go pretty low..
i'd say the lowest point on my car is ~8cm..
with probably another half an inch to an inch to go

well i was looking at something able to go down to 120mm, which is about 7 inches if my maths A proves to be any use to me
120mm is less than 5inches (1inch = approx 25mm)
i got KONI coils on mine, had them since 2001, never had a problem.
dunno the range of height adjustment but my car sits with the guards covering the tyres a little bit and the front has prob another cm or 2 more to go lower, back is lowest height.
they prob cost a bit more then most but its worth the extra dosh. only a bit firmer than stock but awesome handling (better than jap coils in my opinion).
i think steer clear of taiwanese coils/suspension. i learned by wasting my money.

the old D2's used to leak and fail... they'd recalled all of them and have brought a new line that aren't spose to leak!!
i know a few drift cars that use D2's aswell!!
but like tRipitaka said... you want low, D2's can do that... i'm pretty low, and could go another 1.5 inches still!!
