hi..

some people are saying that:

JDM ITR OEM extractors are 4-1 and stainless &
AUDM ITR OEM extractors are 4-2-1 and are cast iron.

But the below pic i have is an 4-2-1 OEM from a ITR ..but is it JDM or AUDM as they are stainless as well..

its weird coz some mechanics are saying they are JDM and others are saying they are VTiR ...weird....and these are well known performance mechanics too.

anyone can shed some light here for an accurate confirmation?

they are either AUDM ITR ot 96-97 Spec JDM ITR

wy do others say its a B16A OEM ...and others say AUDM ITR OEM is cast iron ???

They look cast iron to me.

isnt cast iron ore the lump of lava on most std OEM manifolds.. :(... the ITR looks to be mild steel

the b16A look like stainless steel also, they don't look cast, i've got a set sitting at home, Most of the 4-2-1 from Honda look very similar. The best way to tell is there is usually some markings on the factory headers, but i dunno what means what

the b16A look like stainless steel also, they don't look cast, i've got a set sitting at home, Most of the 4-2-1 from Honda look very similar. The best way to tell is there is usually some markings on the factory headers, but i dunno what means what

Stainless wouldn't have that much corrosion. It still might look brown, but when you run your hand over it, it still feels smooth-ish.

CORRECT -

this extractors i have is 4 pipes then into 2 down pipe then into collector.

the only reason why its brown rusty look is because it has been rained on before it was fitted and was sitting in the shed for a while.

but if u touch it ...its smooth as a babys bottom!! :p

Plus when i had the old B16A top header it was definately cast iron and wasnt even shaped like the one on the pic ..it was gay! :thumbdwn:

thats why i replaced them!!!

yes - most metal will get SURFACE rust giving
giving it a "cast iron" appearance. BTW this 4-2 section of the header , is so obviously NOT cast iron. IT is individual primary pipes and they are welded at the 2-1 upper section

Kools..

GUys look at the atatchment - THESE ARE EXAMPLES OF CAST IRON EXHAUST MANIFOLDS and verrryyy big difference to the one im talking about.

So Ben - what do u think is the final Verdict on what are these extractors came from?

yeah we know duh lol. Its obvious they are - single piece cast iron.
And the one you posted earlier is a single piece mild steel welded item - off a AUDM dc2 ITR or a JDM SIR.
