Just wondering what 3" exhausts people have and what they sound like - I hate farty zorsts. Or if you have a custom made one, how much did it cost?

Anybody have a full-race?

Cheers.

Most people that I know who have a FI setup run custom exhausts.

Hey Klay. I do not think Full Race make complete exhaust systems, they only make Dump pipes.

You want know what "they sound like". Maybe you should ask moreso what Mufflers/Resonators people have with 3 inch systems?

Cheers - and yeah they do have a full exhaust for CRX's. It's about $600 american

Edit: It's a 'Thermal Research & Development' exhaust from full-race

i run a mangnaflow muffler n a mangnaflow resonator.. quiet as.. same setup as your pic, but bigger piping and the biggest muffler i could get.

there not too expensive ~$350 for muffler and ~$100 for resonator

I used cheater bends everywhere. Looking back though, it was so much work cutting and prepping all the pieces that i'll get bends next time.

How do resonators affect the noise? I'm thinking about picking an 18" job for about $50 but unsure if it's worth it or not.

Whats a cheater bend?

Resonators dont restrict flow much at all, BUT will also not reduce the noise to much. It helps with the drone, but doesn't lower the volume too much.
Maybe a center muffler, thats straight through to actually lower the volume?

Pie cuts. Lots of triangle pieces to make a bend. Lots of work, looks pretty spiffy (before the whole thing rusts over anyway).

No space for anything larger than a thin little resonator, unless I put it where the cat normally is. I could probably fit a second muffler near the back but that's getting a bit extreme.

I have no problems with noise, but the boys in blue might have a thing or two to say :)

sounds good, but it sounds like alota mucking around.. also this is for a gen2 crx, so theres not alota room under there for anything.

i did a duy on my exhaust from stainless steel and cost bugger all...

20 bux a mandrel bend which there are about 5 -6 u need
20 bux a meter of stainless tube per meter
cannon 100-150
hi flo cat 100-150
flanges mild steel $20-50
u can use old hangars cut them or make new ones
resenator if u wish, i didnt but its massive loud!

so ull get a fill exhaust for under 400 prolly squeeze a dump pipe in too, all u need is a friend with a tig or mig welder. Sounds grouse and the stainless is thicker and better quality that most shops use and its 100% proper mandrel bent.

LOL 'grouse'.... havent heard that in ages.

In the case for the dump-pipe... do you think I'm better off getting one custom made after the setup is complete, or getting an aftermarket one and changing the factory cross-member (will not clear it). I know there's not much room, but is the X-member really WORTH changing?

DLO01

I take it you mean downpipe (turbine housing 'out')? When you say dump pipe, I think from the wastgate.

You can guy flanges to suit your turbine housing 'out'. Then get an exhaust place make you up an downpipe to suit your needs.

That would be a better option in stead of messing with your x-member.

Thanks mate - yeah meant downpipe my bad.

yeh go the custom way will will be easier and suit ur setup 100%, donbuy thestainless bends from the exha shop or ebay cos they charge dulbe or riple the price of what they actually cost. Flanges u ill have to buy off the shelf unless know somone with a laser cutting machine. Just go 100% custom all the way and source ur own parts for it.
