How did these get on there in the first place?
They must be factory fitted options. Over-protection, just like the "car bra" or mats to protect mats. Actually, headlight protectors are the same. I can't talk as the dealer insisted on including them for our agreed price. However, I ended up taking them off my last car, the Calais.

Just leave them on,they don't look too bad!Plus you may find that after you take them off the paint underneath is slightly discoloured from the adhesive.

They should peel off fine. Just do it on a hot day and slowly peel it off, your paintwork won't peel off with it. It's just like de-badging a car, a little heat and then peel. After that, just give the area a good polish to get rid of the sticky stuff and you'll be fine.

just buy some clear base, and white paint. that way your car will still be protected and you won't notice them

What's it for? LOL!
It's protection, ie: bumps from tolleys, etc

I don't agree with paintitng it white. Then you'll have 2 bumps there that look crap. I say just rip them off, they don't protect that much anyway.

if you paint those things and they are that squishy rubber they will crack the paint up and look real bodgie...
