door/courtesy light problem in civic

Hey guys,
I have a problem with my Civic Si Sedan rear passenger door. When I set the interior light to the middle setting (door), it's meant to light up when a door is open right? Well it works for all doors except for the rear passenger one. Now, the funny thing is, when u just open it and the doors ajar, it lights up, but as soon as u pull the door away it shuts off...

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

the switch maybe faulty.
the wtich is covered by a rubber piece.
its on the body of the car.
