Hi, i currently drive a 1996 Honda Civic VTI (shitty Auto - CVT)
the power steering is really light and has 0 feel 2 it!
but i am currently considering upgrading to a EM1 VTI-R!!!
is the power steering different in the VTI-R ? like does it have more feel ? like a sports car (as it is kinda a sports car) ???
Coz honestly i love my honda's but i dont whant 2 be driving a 'sports' car that has no feel 2 it...
thanx in advance :)

Its has a alot of "slack" because one of the rubbers are probably worn out and needs replacing or tightened up. Have u recently change wheels or tyres? If so, go get an alignment and it most likely be fixed.
My '97 EK Gli Sedan has pretty decent feedback all things considered...
Should definitely have some feel to it, some thing is probably broken

im pritty sure as my car was just recently serviced... has had new tyres fitted (with wheel alignment and everything) :)
Doesn't mean that it's still not broken...
From experience a lot of places just have a quick look around the car and put in new oil for a service and generally don't do any in depth checks... after all unless something is visibly leaking theres no reason to

if it was broken im sure the power steering would be heavier and harder 2 use not lighter... after all... my civic only has 31,000kms... iv checked anywayz and it seems fine... but im yer.. this thread wasnt about if anything is broken or not!!
wen i come 2 a slight stop on a slant, my wheel turns...

the vtir does have harder steering compared to the vti but it really isnt that much different.

thats coz of the heavier/bigger wheels

i dont think any of the civics really have heavy steering, my cuz has a ek4 both stock height and after lowering the steering felt the same,
but on my crx, when stock steering was light, and after the lowering steering got heavier
wen i come 2 a slight stop on a slant, my wheel turns...
ur car is probly just tram lining, ie following the curves in the rd, or u could need a wheel alignment

i have 205/45/17's currently... and it fairly light steering (not light like a lexus LS or something but it fairly light)
are there mods that can give u more feel... ? as i will be modding the car... :)
Use a manual steering rack?

Take the power steering out of it if you want driving feel.

Go get an alignment readout. Both bad toe and castor could give you poor returning to centre.

is that cheap ???
i normally would take my car to Pedders when it comes to my steering, etc...
i find they are very good...

If you have them think you'll come back for an alignment they won't anyway :D

Why are you taking your hands off the wheel exiting a corner? I know in my car because of my lsd the car will straighten its self up when exiting corner.
should centre the wheels anyways...

Do you have a front camber, because the car will tend to stay in ruts in the road if you have camber. Drive like its on rails.
