 hi everyone ,

just want to ask :

Does anyone know the Front disc rotar diameter of JDM DC2R( 96 Spec )

( I just know the JDM DC2R 98Spec had 282mm )

so..... If I install a 282mm disc into my car , will I still can use back my OEM sport rims ?

thanks for the helps.

afaik its 282mm too.

If you are installing on a DC2R then yes it will 100% fit.
What car do u have tho ?

yep 282 front, 260 rear. depend what kinda rims and what car. more details?? If you want confirmation I can send u the integra type r technical manual, listing all the race-spec changes made.

the AU spec type r has stock 15" x 6" wheels and the rotors/calipers only clear by coupla mms. But the face of the rims was made very flat so the calipers would clear.

If u wanna use the type r rotors on a different honda, I'd say 16's atleast. Ur gona need approp. calipers aswell.

As I heard ,

JDM DC2-R ( 96 Spec ) = 262 mm
JDM DC2-R ( 98 Spec ) = 282 mm

If I install a 282 mm ( 98 Spec ) rotar into my 96 Spec , is it my calipers still can use back ?

I m worry , I might change something else to suit it......

change caliper if changing rotor size.

the manual I'm sending u is for 97 up. This is for the US acura

jdm 96' itr = 262mm rotors ( 4x114)
jdm 98' itr + audm itr = 282mm rotors (5x114)

if ur changing rotors u have to change the calipers to suit

u can use 282mm itr rotors and calipers on cars/hubs dat came with 262mm rotors with lil mod

i went from 242 to 262 to now 282mm rotors ... and still using my 15" rims ...
rims size = 15x7 ... +45 offset

I have a JDM 96 spec and i have done the brake upgrade so i can guarantee you that:
JDM DC2-R ( 96 Spec ) = 262 mm - 4x114.3
JDM DC2-R ( 98 Spec ) = 282 mm - 5x114.3
You cannot re-use your 96' calipers with the 98' disc's, you need 98' calipers.

There are two ways of upgrading your 96 spec brakes:
1st: Redrilled 98 spec disc's to suit 4x114.3 (i did it this way, making sure they used one of the factory holes so only had to drill 3 seperate new ones)

2nd: Get 93-95 model Prelude VTI-R disc's which are 4x114.3 and 282mmx23mm the exact same as 98 spec disc's (bolt straight on)

If you are using stock 96 spec rims like me, your rims will not clear the upgraded calipers because the 98' disc's have a smaller overall depth. So you need to use a spacer (approx 2-3mm) or you need to shave the caliper so it will clear. You can either shave the front of the caliper itself or the better option is to shave the mounting bracket where the caliper bolts onto.

FYI: stock JDM 96 spec rims are 15x6 +50 offset

Hope that helps, my advise would be to get DBA Prelude VTI-R disc's with the 98 spec calipers. (older model Legend or NSX calipers would also fit and are 2 pot) :)

it depends on what rims you will be using, with the right offset you wont need to shave the caliper or bracket at all, you need to tell us if you are using the stock rims? if not try fitting the particular rims you have first.

as i'm using the standard 15" rims which have +50 offset i choose to use a spacer and not shave the caliper or the bracket.

if you look at the bracket that the caliper bolts onto, there are two bolt holes (top & bottom), the immediate area around the bolt holes is raised up and that raised area is what you need to shave off if required. i suggest using a dremel or angle grinder.

let us know what rims your using inc offset, as a lower offset say +38 might fit straight on.:)

cheers

You need at least 3mm, i'm using a 5mm spacer atm (cnc machined).

I choose not to shave the bracket or the caliper incase i wanted or needed to revert back to stock (shaving the bracket means you will have issues using the standard setup).

I don't recommend using a cheap spacer made of aluminium as this can crush under the load, you should use something like a H&R spacer which is designed to give you the extra track your after.

do u know how to define the caliper is 96 spec or 98 Spec ?

I heard something like... 17 15 , 17 14 , 17 13 to define the caliper to suit 300mm , 282mm , 262mm etc.....

thanks in advance :)

i'm not sure what numbers your referring to? are they supposed to be stamped/engraved on the calipers?

maybe the part numbers are what your after?
