View Full Version : Removing Valve Cover- Help Needed

Im in the middle of removing my valve cover and am having trouble getting it off with piping in the way as per the picture below

Can anyone tell me the best way to get the valve cover off with this pipe in the way?

undo the two bolts holding it to the power stearing pump.

thats gonne be messy ;) hopefully it wont leak when its put back :)

you have to do what you have to do.

use a rag and wrap the hose end. the pump end wont leak coz it is higer than the resivour.

Probably to change his valve cover

thats how i did mine though..
there was some leaking but..it wasnt really a lot.. get something to wrap around it too..

Just changing the valve cover :)

maybe you can just release the strap somewhere and move a bit to left... ?

i'm not sure coz haven't do it myself.. :p but anyway.. change the cover to which one? post up pics after.. :D

i painted it using VHT Wrinkle paint :p

Well, it's really for people who like driving with the bonnet open :p

I think that we all just like do stuff to our cars, whether it be external or internal, a mod like painting your valve cover is easy to do and passes some time as well. :thumbsup:

not really modding but rather "cleaning" it up and making it more pleasing to the eye....

and most pple wouyld be like "oh but ur not gonna be opening up ur bonnet anyway" which is true i guess, but i think pple just see it as one more part of a car that they can add their own personal touches to.

So it's painted then.. it's really kool!! I use VHT for my engine cover too :D the paint is reliable.. nicely done bro!
