OK
to sum it up
there is a gear box oil leak in my car noticed it after seeing a blue oil puddle in my garage

so i cleaned the area and it seems to be coming from the top
my friends prelude is the same we both using redline GB oil
and he noticed it after he put it in
apparently its cos the oil is blue so its noticable??
And that our seals are broken

just wondering if any other preludes have the same problem
and how much it was to fix + approx how long

From what I've heard, because Honda's use a transaxle (gearbox, diff are one unit) - non-manufacturer oils aren't recommended for use in them, due to the fact that the Honda oil's are designed to be a specific viscousity and have specific properties to deal with the stresses and what not.

That said, I wouldn't think using a non-OEM oil would cause any seals to break/a fluid leak... either way, my advice would be to get it fixed up and go back to Honda MTF.

Also, if you are doing hard driving and are worried about the protection of your gearbox, rather than go for an oil not designed for your gearbox, just increase the frequency of your oil changes... So for hard driving, you should change your gearbox oil every 10-15,000 km or so, more frequently (5000km) if you really give it a hard time (track days, drag strip, etc...)
