Gauge Cluster swap

just wondering does any1 know if a 00 sir civic gauge cluster from a auto transmission can be swapped into my 98 ek1 which is a manual transmission cause i emailed the guy in japan and he said you cant, whilst my friend says you can? o.O

I believe the plug setup is different between the manual and auto. Also, it will look wrong as it has the drive/shift position which the manual cluster doesnt have.

i did search but no1 has tried yet form a sir to a ek1 its alright, friend says he'll do it just that you'll have the shift lights which a manual car doesnt use sitting there thats all =(. no biggie i guess i could.... paint it black? =P

Will still look wrong imo. Why not just get a manual sir cluster?

can't find one atm, the only one i can find is like for 300/400 aussie.. all that for a cluster is a bit much i think, i can get a manual cluster from an ek4 but its in mph so i have to change my speedo to km/h i wonder if thats cheaper or paying a bit more for the auto sir cluster and suffer with the extra info =P

I got a JDM EK4 Cluster (all red and glows red) on my EK1, it's an Auto as well. Got it for $200 shipped a couple of years ago.
I'm sure it'll still work if you plug in an auto cluster into a manual, that's if you don't mind the gear indicators.

you can use an EG auto cluster on a manual EG
