Yeah, very nice result boys... We need to get some drag slicks on there.

Mine was a little underwhelming 14.25x @ 96.xxMPH.
I'll put it down to me running out of talent :o

I managed two runs thanks to the rain, and i'm suddenly unable to launch- got two consecutive 2.2xx 60's. I'll go back again next week to try and improve on it, maybe if i drive the car around for a day i'll get back in the groove........

Good work on the 13's FLY don't see many N/A Type-r's running 13's with ACTUAL time slips to prove.

So you removed:
-Passenger Seat
-Rear Seats

How about the spare tyres/tools and jack?

Also when you say Dynodave tune was that with a Hondata? or Apexi- Vafc?

must've been the dings+scratches from RNP that got you those times..

Spare tyre out/tools out/jack out.....

Hondata s300 with DynoDave tune. We used the same map as in our Yellow Civic with b18c7 which did 13.6. We fine tune it of course to match the engine.

From the above reply, looks like he was running Yokohama Advans A048 Semi Slick R-Compound tyres so very sticky and grippy. A lot better then normal street tyres for launches.

Sorry but your wrong about they bring sticky. They will be as good as good street tyres. We used them casue they were bald, good for burnouts ;).

With proper set of drag radial the times will drop.

Jimmy who you trying to fool. you know them tyres are better than most "street tyres". To be fair they're semi-slicks not really street tyres. The only better "street tyre" is BFG drag radials.

There might be a .1 or .2 to squeeze from the type R... We just did this to prove a point that stock type R can actually run 13's with a budgeted bolt-ons. The bolt-ons we have on didnt cost much compare to well-known brands like mugen or spoon.

This just goes to show all those people out there with worked B-series or thinking of working there engine that a stock type R with bolt-ons can do the same times if not quicker down the 1/4 mile.

We have now prove this twice in two unopen b18c7 motor.. Once in our and EG and now in the Type R.

ginganggooly
12-04-2007, 08:31 PM
Be nice to see your car run on slicks... you'd be scarily close to some of the mega $$ setups going around. Fark, you're already faster than most of them...

It's a credit to yourselves and mr dynodave that you've done this much with what you've had to work with. very, very good job...

12-04-2007, 09:20 PM
yeh as Benny mentioned we could have squeezed another 0.1 ir maybe 0.2 off that time. Only had 3 runs and i was slightly altering the way i was getting off the line each time. and it seemed to be working. But overall fairly happy with the time :)

but although our type r managed to do this it doesnt neccesarily mean others with same mods would do it cause every car is different.

Also you wouldnt know if you dont go :P we need more of a honda presence at WSID meets.

very interesting what simply just a ECU and a good long tune can warrant.
IMO , even without the bolt on mods you can reap power from a stock engine with a good tune.

Actually, you kind of do all the talking.
One only needs to search your previous posts to see how hard you blow your own trumpet.
Further, you have a tendency to dish out shit to everyone, left right & centre.
It is funny though, when it comes back at you, you're ****ed for any thing to say.

Hey no one is perfect James people do make mistakes some more than others and some more frequent than others and some just all the time :p ,some people do blow there own horn as they are very proud as to what they have achieved with little help from the BIG name shops. This thread was started by a family that with very little help went out and ran a great time so I really think you all should show some respect to there achievments as many guys have tried with spending alot more on there NAME brand parts and setups that are slower then these guys, and for me it is a great pleasure to be part of there little group that goes out and enjoys there rides both on and off the track, and I dont really want to see this thread turned into another locked one because someone has issue's with other shops/people.
Regards Dyno Dave
