2007 Civic Astray... what to do with it.

I don't smoke.. I'm wondering if I can use the ashtray as a coffee mug? Any other suggestions? Could be starting a 101 ways of using your ashtray.

i use it 2 put coins...bt i dont leave it in that console part..cos it cant close

so half the time it sits in the glovebox stacked up with my cd wallet so it doesnt move around...

before that it actually sat on my desk hahahha...

i use mine as an acoustic testing chamber :)
play noise on my mobile phone, drop it in there, and see which materials mask the sound the best when stretched over the top :) (with the lid open of course)

Xmas present for someone who smokes. Its not a bad looking thing to give to someone. Just dont tell them you got it with ur car :p

Im not a smoker so I snapped off the metal part inside and now its sits in one of my cup holders being a very useful coin holder :)

Have no idea why Honda design the astray on this way, but good for someone use them at home, haha

they design it so you can put it in the back of the car in the cup holders there too.

My suggestion would be to throw it out. If you dont smoke. You dont need it. Simple.

And to answer "Why is it designed that way". I would say due to the fact the car manufactures can't cater to the smoker anymore by ruining a design of a car with such an antiquated thing as a ashtray. Thinking back, ashtrays are stupid things for cars, considering its getting less OK to smoke.

Cool.. some great ideas here. Mine is now sitting in my glove compartment, taking up space. I guess I'll take it out soon. Use it as a pen holder or something in my office.

i always have my mineral water bottles in the centre. dont smoke. so the cup is somewhere in a box. but it does look really well built to be thrown out. if u throw it out. imagine how hurt the person who spent all that time n effort to design it would feel.
