Hey guys , today I went to my local midas shop and asked for a price quote this guy told me $300 for a catback exhaust system, would just like to know is this a good deal or not as he told me its cheaper then other deals, he looked quite honest and convincing as he knew alot about my eg honda civic vti.

Thanks

I didn't ask that, to be honest I didn't go technical cause I dont really care wat brands and how its made etc as long as it does the job, he also said my standard exhaust the piping on it is already 2 inch and he said 2.25 would b the way to go.

2.25 is okay, if it's press bent.
some people would say go for a 2inch though, becuase i really don't think the vti's don't have a 2inch from stadard.

Hey, I think his right i just measured it and it came out to be 2 inch, measure from the top to the bottom of the pipe not around it of course?

there's way that price is for Stainless. Most likely it's just press bent mild steel.

you say you don't care what it is as long as it does the job. what job is that? you just want noise? or performance? Cause it does matter if you're after performance.

$300 would definetly be for mild steel. what brand is it? sounds too good to be true

there is probably close to nothing to be gained performance wise by changing your catback on your vti civic

price definitely sounds like it's for a mild steel set up. To be honest, there's nothing wrong with mild steel...just make sure it's mandrel bent , not press bent, if you want minor performance gains.

man
i've just purchase the xforce catback for 570.
2.25", think it's a little big for d16y4. but i guess it's ok
just need to save for a b series implant later.

Try a different shop to Midas - they don't make their own systems and buy them from the companies that do, so why not go direct to a shop that will custom make you exactly what you want that fits perfectly?

i have same car as u, and mine is also 2inch, i dont no, i dont think .25" would make worlds biggest difference, try and find sum prices from smaller places not places like midas etc

stainless is better yes.

how is stainless better?? isnt it just another material
other than just lasting longer than mild steel, i dont think there would be any performance gain by simply having a ss catback to a mild steel catback
unless its the way ss is made??? smoother on the inside maybe?

If your looking for sound do not go past mild steel, stainless has a very hollow sound and you will kick yourself for getting it. If you are looking for preformance get Extractors a high flow cat and stainless system with no ressie but if you want sound and preformance get extractor with normal cat and mild steel.
