Is this bad ?

Hiyas,

I noticed what looks like rust when i was installing my HU in my Civic Sedan 2000 model. Its located on the metal columns which the HU slides into. Think the middle console location.

Firstly, is it rust.
Secondly, if it is should i worry about removing it?
Thirdly, how the hell did it get there ?!

I bought the car from a dealership about 4 months ago.

If things start falling apart should i take it back to them sooner rather than later to get it fixed OR is it my problem now ?

nah its nothing to worry about. that sort of surface rust is pretty much unavoidable.

was the same with my car, nothing to worry about :D

it just means that the car has been living in a moist or humid conditions....
but as kit said dont worry. Its not quite the same as having a pool of water sitting in the bottom of your doors and slowly rust-bubbling out :)
