Hi all,

Just wondering if there is any trick to installing a strut brace on the 98 honda accord as the brake master cylinder gets in the way? because i know on the prelude 92-96 thing require a little shuffling.
Thanks guys

I got myself a megan racing one, and i'm faced with the same problem. perhaps these braces are designed for the V6, not I4.

Which one do you have?

I actually imported these braces and sold one to a oh member and now it doesnt fit, the brake master cylinder gets in the way there was only one option for the import and that was 98 & up.

what year is your accord? i havent compared, but they might be for pre-facelift. i.e. 98-00.

mine is an 01 with a few new bits n pieces upgraded.

okay well i sold this item, i dont actually own an accord all i have listed is accord 98+ now i know that it dont think will fit euro but thaught will fit 98-02 accord then. However the brake master cylinder appears to be in the way as i have been sent fotos by the buyer.

myself and another member are facing this same problem.

perhaps it has something to do with RHD vs LHD market dsigns.

alright guys,

I've stolen these pics from v6performance.net (user: a99blackaccord), this user installed a neuspeed bar onto his AV6.

See how there is no power steering resevoir in teh way!? You can see taht it sits very low to the right hand side of the picture (well LHD no duh)

Might be an i4 issue, or even a LHD vs RHD issue (i.e. same engine place, every else has to be re located and redesigned)

shorly someone here has the strut brace on the 98 accord who has overcome the the brake fluid cylinder issue?

anyway, just a little update. I finaly got my socket set which enabled me to play around iwth the nuts n bolts.

the brake fluid reservoir IS in the way. no matter what I do, the design just does not allow the strut to fit on (which totally sucks).

So, to overcome this? I can only think of one method - to buy a brake fluid resevoir from the states and swap that over with the AUDM one.

Other than that, i've got a pretty strut bar which will serve no purpose other than looking bling in my room, or having handy in the car just in case I run into trouble.

IMO .. when i put on my cd5 i have to bend my reservoir for the clutch mountings and re route some wire.. ie unplug from where it use to be and move it around.

and its Japanese Cusco .. which is right hand drive + i tried to put the CUSCO brake stoper it moved the reservoir ...

stupid company doesn't allow it to work together strut brace + brake stoper. may be i have to modify it to fit.. but I really Cant be bOthered
