Agreed. JDM CTR just shits all over the UK one...

More power, more torque, LSD and way better braking kit?

I'll take that thanks.

I don't know why u guys are complaining but we get the twin exhaust tips and electric fold mirrors...the rest is nothing...

iaquinta
16-04-2007, 02:01 PM
Twin exhaust tips and electric mirrors don't make the car go faster or brake harder.

Also, I think you meant electric steering... which is probably a first in a type r.

i like the specs of the jdm but the ukdm looks slightly better imo, has a accordeuro-ish to it - well at least the front anyway.

xenfacta

is that the concept jdm ctr or production? i dont see anyone selling a car from the factory with no stereo or with less equipment than a cheaper model....

Nah I mean electrical foldable side mirror, read the spec sheet. Twin triangle exhaust tip is a work of master piece created by top genius that cannot be replaced by power.

looks like the JDM CTR is more performance focused while the UKDM CTR has more luxury features

Electric steering will offer less feel (sucks). Can't believe its on the UKDM CTR.

Noticed that too, hardware more impressive in on the JDM spec while the UKDM spec more features...

JDM ctr has more power and better looks. go JDM!

Civic Type R

Its a Type R.
If you want a sound system, get the non Type R model.

all this hate towards the UKDM CTR, if someone gave it to you, you wouldn't be complaining, you'd be happy as a mofo.

i know feature wise the JDM has got the upper hand, but when it comes down to it, it aint unique on oz roads cuz all it looks like is a 07 civic vti sedan with a few exterior bits added on.

my opinion anyway.

i bet even if the JDM CTR comes over here, it would loose most of its goodies anywaiz

seems like the jdm would be the choice for a weekend warrior but the uk version is the everyday car.

However, a basic sound system and cruise control arent heavy and wont take away from the balance handling etc. so i dont see why they dont put them in.

Even if Honda brings the JDM model in i wont be getting mine for a few yrs anyway so i dont have to worry about it lol

.

But thats why its better. Its a Civic with a bodykit >>>> the hideous(in my opinion) UK Civic. IT looks like a deformed baby OF Yaris and beetle.

But no stereo is a bit much... Thats ridiculous

Something interesting i found on the uk forums.

The type RR sounds stupid as shit

They shouldnt do things like this cause it ruins the type R name.

ns they could have just made it Type R track version or some shit

The composition of a car and not its name is what makes or breaks it.

If you want to see the Type R name being ruined (beit slightly) then have a look at the 'luxury' model we're getting.

i prefer the JDM type R
looks better 4 door
as mentioned b4 better brakes more power
and i remember reading on here b4 some 1 saying the rear suspension on the JDM CTR is a better design than the UK CTR.
i really dont like the UK CTR looks shit.
looks too futurisic.
and imagine the parts for the car once it hits oz
HONDA AUS should have just brought the JDM CTR so the FD boys can be happy and parts will be cheaper cuz of the fact it doesnt have to be imported for europe. It'll take ages for them to bring parts in and be expensive.

this is sound stupid ...

could we import JDM CTR our self? coz the model is not even in australia ???

57UDD
26-04-2007, 08:14 AM
i dont think we'd be able to import it as it wouldnt pass the requirements for a SEVS compliancing. Look at the EP3, it took how many years for it to be able to finally get compliancing for it. Plus the JDM CTR is a 4 door sedan, they wont consider it cuz its the same shape as the current model civics here. Its gotta be different thats wat i was told by DOTARS.

Anyway FN2 CTR ftw!!!!

Provided you stay within that country for 12months, you can import anything into this country. :)

I'd prefer the US "Si" Coupe with the interior and drivetrain from the JDM type R model hahahah.. IMO the euro hatch's ass is just too ugly and i can only get so excited about a sedan.. but hey at least Honda australia has given us something !! just wait for the new-honda-converts and ricers to crash them so we get the front-cuts flowwing :D

At the time the decision to import the CTR and ADR-approval etc. would have been made, the JDM CTR was still not an official green-light for production in Japan. so there is still chance we coulod get the JDM Type R civic if sales are strong for the 3-door and I suspect they will be :D
