hey guys,
just recently installed an aftermarket alarm with remote central locking in the car, however the installer couldnt hook up the alarm to my central locking for remote cos he said that my current motor (or something else that joins them) is busted and I need to get a new one.
Problem is, the installer is pretty far away, and I was quoted 40 bux for this (usually 80)
So was wondering if I could just get a central locking kit on ebay and just use the particular part to hook it up myself? also where would I be look for this "hook up" spot? under the dash?
thanks in advance!

yeah you can buy the ones from ebay.
the motors usually go in the door.

The motors are in the door, the wires to controll them can be found in the kick panels. I'm sure there are manuals posted here that tell you the colors to look for. It's pretty easy to hook it up.

Can get sets for about $30 at JB hi-fi.
Easy as to hook-up.

the "hook up box" is usually another small black box on the drivers side kick panel.
this will have a plug which has wires in it, if u look at your under dash fuse box, there should be a fuse for the central locking... u can follow that wire as it wll be the + positive power to the central locking module box which then u can light tester, and trigger the wires to find the positive to open the doors and the other wire for it to close the doors.
if ur car is a 2dr the main power motor will be the drivers door and the passenger will be the slave, the slave normally has 2 wires on the motor and the main or master motor will have 3-4 wires. if u have a 4dr central locking the rears will be slave also.
also if u have a central locking switch near the power window switches this will be an easier fitting as it opens and closes all 2 or 4 door motors - this will make ur installation easier.
then u can just follow ur alarm install manual and hook up the module to ur alarm central locking output - from memory most alarms are all pulse triggering.
i used to fit alarms, stereos, central locking, power windows and sunroof for a living ....
take some photos of the drivers side kick panel - this will help u to identify where or which "black box" is the central locking module.
