Upgrade to Lux wheels

Hi guys,

Just a quick question. I've got the std and was thinking about upgrading to the 17' lux wheels for a nicer overall look.

Any hints on the best places to find some? I take it they don't come up for sale too often and Honda quoted me $605 per rim lol :thumbdwn:

Should I just keep an eye on ebay or the likes?

as far as i know there pretty hard to come by maybe try wreckers

Sometimes on ebay for $550-$600 generally.
I know coz I sold mine there..........

yeah.. honda roughly $600 each.. and it's hard to find on wrecker too. i guess.. i saw on ebay before.. roughly around 600-700 if am not wrong.. include the tyres..

Ive found somone who has the 17's Euro sport rims for $1000. (are they different to LUX??)
Brand new ones.

Not a bad price!Sport rims are same as 05 Lux.

Last set I saw there a month or 2 ago sold for about $580 for the 17 rims only, and in December a new set with new tyres off the lux 06 was $1325 I'm pretty sure.

Usually every 4-6 weeks on average for the rims.....good luck.....

The 06 Sport/05 Lux 10 spoke seem to be worth more 2nd hand than the 06 Lux rims(and are harder to get!).

Definately 05 lux wheels more popular than the 06 lux, but then for $1k+ you have a choice of aftermarket rims for the money.....my 17x7 Avanti's cost $1040, just not a real big choice with a suitable offset

I looked for 05 Luxury (06 Sport; 07 LE) rims for some time before I got sick of waiting, and instead opted for a set of 06 rims, which I picked up from eBay (brand new, from a dealer tyre dept) for $660. Now that I'm used to both styles, I actually prefer the 06s and am glad I made the choice I did. ;)

As mentioned elsewhere in this thread, these rims tend to come up every couple of months on eBay, so keep looking. And I'd recommend avoiding the stock Bridgestone rubber unless you get it for a bargain with rims - quite a few on these forums suggest it's rubbish. I went with Yokohama C-Drives, and they're fantastic - quieter and better riding than the stock 05 Dunlops, with a ton more grip.

$500-$600 for 06 lux rims.....as new...honest.....

No way. When I had my Corolla Sportivo, my stock 16" wheels sold for $900. These ones are larger and nicer.

Since December I have seen 3 sets of 17" rims sell on ebay for $5-600 ( including my own for approx.$565 to a Ozhonda member)and one set for $1325 with tyres (brand new) and the rims were new or near new.

O5 lux rims I have seen sell for up to $1K

Don't blame me for the market, I wish I had sold them for $1K+........good luck.
My Avanti's Impakt 11 17x7's only cost just over 1K.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I paid $660 for mine, and that's an average price for four brand new 06 style rims wihout tyres. I've seen them go for as low as $480, and as steep as $750. With tyres, anywhere from $1200 to $1700 is the going rate.

The 05/sport rims, on the other hand, are in much greater demand. I had two guys on these forums asking for over $1200 for sets of four in very second-hand condition, and neither was prepared to budge (personally, I think that's a ridiculous price for guttered stock rims, no matter how stylish).

If you have the opportunity to purchase new 05-style rims for anything under $1k, I'd say go for it. If you're not happy with them, you'll have no problem flogging them to someone on Ozhonda for at least $1k + shipping.
