Can I Remove The Boot Lid From The Glass Hatch

Can I remove the boot lid from the glass hatch off of my (94 model)Vtir, the paint has had it and i would prefer not to have to mask up the whole car before i re-spray it. If i can remove the boot lid will i have to get a glazier out to re seal the hatch when im finished?

The boot has a frame that includes the entire hatch, just get an auto-glazier to remove the window from the hatch, then refit after painting.
