Which item would you be talking about? Spoon and Mugen both have different pros and cons for different products. I'm sure you know that by now.

Name the product and I'm sure people might be able to help you rather than blatantly asking which brand name is better.

In regards to the Spoon or Mugen crate engines, a few people on the "for sale" section have had their hands on these and sold these for $XXXX dollars. Really depends on the condition of the engines. Also, the best way in going about purchasing a crate engine would be to write an email to the respective companies (preferably in Japanese if possible as they tend to reply quicker) and ask them for price and details.

But the general bias of these brands is that Mugen make excellent parts for a premium price, while Spoon produce quality products but slightly easier on the wallet.

Normally, the mugen products for integra is better. But like a throttle body, i prefer the spoon one. Anyways, just depends on you what you want to get~O~

yea sorry guys. im talking about a full engine kit. from what uve said so far im taking mugen is better. so it would be best to purchase straight from mugen?? or there are people with brand new engines here in aus? or are they all second hand?

mugen doesn't sell B18 Crate motors and if they do u would be looking at at least 10K

The spoon B18 crate motor isn't much different from the stock one.

Perhaps you should do some more research

For the ultimate in endurance racing, Inline Four offers you the Spoon B-series engine assembly. Each B-series engine assembly is a JDM Honda longblock straight from Spoon's engine assembly room. Spoon acquires these blocks from Honda Japan and disassembles them. Prior to reassembly, Spoon precision balances and blueprints these longblocks to ensure optimum performance during endurance racing. These long-blocks are blueprinted down to 0.1g. and include a Spoon 2ply. metal headgasket. This is usually a special order item, but due to the amount of requests, we stock the B18C longblock assembly. PLEASE CALL TO ORDER

Doesn't say much lol but yeah, you need a lot of dosh hahaha, its probably better to build up your B18C than crate engine from Spoon as VTECACCORD said, not much is don't that we can see. If it was a B16B then it'll be a different story hahaha...

try ProConcept in Sydney for spoon engines. They might be able to help you out. They're running 2 full race 2L Ek4s at the moment and can get quite a lot of stuff in.

dont know much about anything by the sound... lol

And a spoon crate motor differs in many ways to a stock honda motor. Its completly ballanced. Different cams. Block brace. flowed head. ect.

Neither is better than the other. its a matter of what you expect out of it. In your case, sounds like u want to fulley hektik drag race everyone, then i would suggest neither. Instead, go for the variety of ebay parts available from good american performance companys.

Spoon and Mugen items were designed to work in conjunction with a fully tuned chassis and do not deliver A BIGILLION kilowats like most aussie honda owner want.
