Greetings.

What are your thoughts on using the Honda FEO 10-30W
engine oil on old Civics that's done over 200,000km?
I guess it might not be suitable with both my buzz boxes.
Which brand/type or heavier grade oil would you use?

I run 2 third generation Civics '84(440,000km) & '86(190,000Km).
The '86 is undergoing a slow refurbishing process(bought it 2 months ago).
Both cars consume oil and regular checks are undertaken
every 1000km to avoid hernia.

Please share your knowledge and personnal experiences on this subject.

Would appreciate your recommendation on oil brand/type/grade to defer
the inevitable rebuild further down the road.

Thanks all.

ps. btw I've been following the thread by crx51 on oils and it looks
like my original decision in using a 10-40W grade cheapie hasn't
deviated too much to cause any major problem.
I'm just curious what others been using for worn EW2s .

imo, for engines done more than 200,000ks gotta use thicker grade oil than 30, as it will MAY start to burn or lose oil, go with something like a 40 should be ok...

mines done over 200xxxkms and i run it on FEO 10-30W, runs perfectly

it also depends on the engine and if its been looked after over its life

feo is fine on old engines

have seen cars with over 500,000km running fine on feo :)

as stated above it will depend on the condition/history of the actual engine
