just wondering guys how easy a conversion it would be putting a teg vtir or type r motor into a standard dc gsi?
do mounts or anything need to be changed ? or would the motor fit nicely in and you would just need to bolt and rewire everything?
would u just need the right tools and a halfcut or is there anything else ud need to buy? how easy is it installing a new ecu?
would brakes need to be upgraded?

brakes should be ok.
its just a drag and drop. you drag the old motor out and drop the new one in.
:)
ECU you just need to unplug and plug back in. I think that the sensors and etc are all the same?
Anyway, a thorough search on Honda-Tech.com or here will help you out with doing the engine swap

... depends on quality.
What do you want the VTEC motor for ? more power?
Because if you want to get a brand new motor, and you have a bit of coin, maybe you are better off making a B20VTEC motor.
CRV block, B18C head. You'll get more torque and more power than an ITR motor.
A lot of guys on here have done the B20VTEC, and people like DynoDave and tinkerbell can help you :)

yeh basically for more power, im looking at buying a gsi just to pootal around in for a bit, then once i get bored replacing the motor to make the car fun. making a B20 vtec sounds expensive and ive heard if its not done properly the bottom end wont last long at high rpms

... well, do it properly and you wont have problems.
plus dude, half the people on here, little net mechanics. I just give you suggestion, i didnt say "do this do that" blah blah.
B series motors use same mount points etc etc.
But if you want an expert opinion, it's better to ask someone who has done it before.
i.e. PM DynoDave, or do some research on here.
You wouldn't ask a nun about foreplay now would you :)
