Whats the most weight I can take off by myself.

out of everything is it best to remove back seats, sound system or air conditioning ??

what sort of car is in question?

id say sound system. if you are thinking about weight reduction to aid performance then is a sound system a priority? of course a head deck and just speakers arent really going to matter but if you are talking about several "phully shic shubs, mate" then id go the can on them -as they are IMO generally annoying and refuse.

as for back seats? will anyone need to sit in the back at anystage forseeable in the future? i thought about removing the backseats from my car but when it came down to it it just isnt worth it IMO. for the unnoticable on the street gain that you get, you are sacrificing being able to carry more people. what if u are in an emergency and u need just one seat? on that very very rare occasion is it really worth it?

air conditoning? maybe take it out during the cooler months and try it. i wouldnt suggest getting rid of it until you have tried a summer without it :)

more practical solutions for weight reduction such as CF hood, lighter wheels and or lighter seats are what i would suggest. these however cost money $$$ though. taking things off your does not of course but it may cost u more if u are unlucky.

i would also suggest taking out the spare wheel and getting a repair kit.

Is this for a street car or track only car, as that will make a difference to what you can and can't remove.

You can also remove sound deadening as it can add a fair bit of weight because it is pretty dense stuff, but it is very difficult to remove. Any redundant wiring can also go. You'd be surprised at how much a bundle of wires can weigh.

Out of those 3 things I'd say sound system if it is a proper sound system as that has a lot of ancillaries that can also be removed.

perspex is not a legal replacement... the only engineerable replacement is lexan.

also removing backseats is not legal if the it is rego'd as say a 5-seater.

driving around with no spare tyre is also illegal...

i hope this is all for track work only....

The biggest difference would be noticed from reducing unsprung weight on the car... ie the wheels

Really removing the seats, carpet, etc etc is going to make **** all difference
