yeh but if u get a b20 block dont u have to get internal work on it anyways.
and ill end up costing more money.
i was wondering if u can stroke a b16 out to a 2L
and if its going to be the same power as getting a b20 block.
has anyone done this before

edelbrock sell b16a stroker kits... i think they do it to 2.1L or something...
and they keep the standard rev range... so can still handle 8200rpm even though they have a longer stoke...

I got B20 long motor in stock. $900.
As said above, we got a b20/vtec $6k installed. Makes 117.3kw atw. Capable of doing 13's pending on drivers skill in a Ek4.

For the amount of money spent on a "stroke kit" - its the same price if not cheaper to either mod your car a fair bit and be happy , or sell the engine and chuck in a stock B18c2 or B18c7. And be happy.

If you build your stroker B16a and it will cost you a HEAPS more than a B20 conversion to the same power level,if your in Syd ask fatboyz's/Benson to take you for a drive in the CRX B20Vtec we just finished you will get a shock at the torque they make and that engine is forsale complete and tuned in your car.

coz i already have a b16a
i was only thinking of just changing the block to a b20.
wat would be needed to complete the job and how much would i be looking at spending.
also this car will be an everyday car which i drive to work.
and i like being able to rev it out to 8000rpm

I am sure a B20 built by Dave can rev out to 8000rpm and beyond.
Just sell you B16A and get the B20 motor off Fatboyz, less stress, less hassle.
Up to you though.

What is you intention? Track/Street/Strip. Different answers for all three. Keep in mind though that even a mildly turbo'd B16A > Any NA B20 for power/torque. Not to mention best bang for buck.
IMO, B20 = Peak Power & Track whereas Turbo package would suit midrange torque and all over package...
You will most likely run into problems with both, boosted or not...
