Is it recommended to put 195 tyre profile on 5 inch wide wheel?
ex: 195/55/14 tyre on 14x5 wheel
thank you

As confusing as it seems to me, the tyres stock on g2 integras are 195/60 r14
for 14x5.5 wheels.
This doesn't really make sense to me since I have 205's on my 7x17 wheels, but whatever.

im not being a dickhead dude, but the profile is the height of the tyre at the sidewall, what you're referring to is the tyre width

sorry for the mixing terms, basically I am planning to get a set of suzuki ignis sport wheels which are 15x5. Current tyres are 185/55/15.
I am planning to change the tyres to 195/50/15 as I thought 185/55/15 tyres are a bit difficult to find or pricey. what do you guys think, should I change to 195/50/15 or stick to 185/55/15?
In the end, it is only my assumption that it is difficult/pricey to find 185/55/15 tyres, I haven't searched for it. Please correct me if I am wrong here.

A rough guide to go by is to choose a rim width that is approximately 90% of the tyre width. In your example, a 5" rim would be approximately 65% of the tyre ((5x25.4)/195)x100=65.1
In 21st Century Performance by Julian Edgar, he suggests a 195/55R15 tyre can be mounted on rim width from 5.5"-7".
I don't believe the Suzuki ignis is an exotic car so it wouldn't make sense for Suzuki to choose expensive tyres given the market population it is aimed at. If you're after something cheap then sticking to stock tyre size should be fine. Mind you, your tyres are all that's keeping you connected to the road so don't skimp on the rubber!
